How much do you have (estimates ar ok)? Please list your mods. Who has the most right now   ??
|
Interesting question...
I'm sure it's no where near the fastest...but it's good enuff 4me ) Peace, D |
I ran 173 with the pulley, Pilo Racing Intake, and Pilo Racing Ignition Upgrade.
I have since installed the UUC Exhaust so I guess that I am about 180 not. I have some new mods on the way that should put me passed the 210-215 mark. Thanks Dan Pilo Racing |
168hp 154 tq at the wheels on Helix's Mustang dyno.
17% pulley, K&N intake, John Cooper Works Exhuast. |
What's the standard that everyone is using to convert FWHP to Flywheel HP? Anyone know what an accurate % loss is for the MCS?
|
Right now I have 0 bhp. My MINI is still on the boat    !!!
When I'm done with it tho, I should have about 245 BHP at the crank. I plan to do dyno testing when complete. Cheers, JD |
What's the standard that everyone is using to convert FWHP to Flywheel HP? Anyone know what an accurate % loss is for the MCS? I have 19% pulley, madness intake and UUC exhaust. Have not dynoed it yet. I plan on at least getting a final number when I add the GIAC chip. I do plan on doing the 1/4 mile with my current setup and at least I can compare my times to those with the 15% pulley. That'll give me some comparison. But I'd bet that the 19% pulley adds equal or more performance than an exhaust, intake, header and current aftermarket ECUs combined. I amount of low down torque available is unreal for an engine and car this size. |
I agree with greatgro: "But to keep it simple, you should just report your dyno results. And also list the dyno used like vdubdoug did above b/c a brake horsepower dyno like Helix uses shows much more conservative (and IMO, more accurate) numbers."
I've noticed a disturbing trend with MINI power numbers being "guestimates" of flywheel horsepower. Let's leave this to the old school guys. (If I had a dollar for every "400 horsepower" Mustang I've ever heard about...). I'm planning on getting a baseline dyno on a Dynojet 248c on my MCS now that the break-in miles are done. If the guys with the dyno will cut me a deal, I'm planning on dynoing after each mod to see what the gain is. Isn't there another thread on dyno runs, either here or on MINI2? Let's keep em coming guys...you don't have to post your dyno sheet, let's keep it fun and lite shall we

Can someone......please point me towards a dyno on Long Island  ?????
(Not.... NJ, or Ct or Pa...please ) I'm listening:) Peace, D |

Well I have the 15% Alta, Webbmotorsports ECU, Pilo Racing Intake, Nology Wires and Denso plugs. I dunno, 195 BHP???
|
thanks dude...
appreciate it  Peace, D |

Bisch, thanks for the info.. I just booked a dyno for next week, ive been dying to do that, and had no idea where to find a shop to do it local.. thanks DA |
A word about dyno numbers. Be aware that although we think of these numbers as being a good reflection of what your MINI has for power the numbers reported will vary from one dyno to another and from one site to another, Furthermore the results will vary with climate/environment differences.
Talk to Eric at Helix13 and he will tell you that it took him a very long time to learn how to dyno MINIs accurately to reflect true numbers not just inflated numbers that you want to hear about. Afterall you are paying money to have your car dynoed and you want to hear higher numbers. The person doing the dyno (by error or on purpose) can just about make any numbers happen and print it out for you on your request so I do not consider charts and reported numbers as being as accurate as we once thought. Ask if the shop has dynoed MINIs before and what range do they get the stock MCS to fall in. If they say 160 HP go elsewhere. Buyer beware. |
Alta Intake/silicon hose, Alta 15% pulley, Webb ECU/93 octane, Denso IK 22s, Milltek header, Milltek exhaust.
Maybe 200 or so - really strong on these cold days  |
Madness intake, 19% pulley and UUC exhaust. No dyno so I'd guess close to 200HP and 190 torque at the crank.
One thing I'm sure of - there's plenty of torque available down low. The 19% pulley is really a miracle worker, IMO. |
>>Well I have the 15% Alta, Webbmotorsports ECU, Pilo Racing Intake, Nology Wires and Denso plugs. I dunno, 195 BHP???
I think your estimate is off a little.... Bad plug wires: -5 hp Extra squirrels in the engine: +15-20 hp        J/K!!! Nyle |

http://www.binkydognose.com/mini/pulley/dyno2thm.jpg 15% pulley, Webb ECU, Magnaflow, Rogue/Madness intake. |
binkydognose - what's up with your dyno results? 161HP at the wheels with all of those mods? Do they know how to dyno? Driveline loss is only considered to be 11% or so on the MINI. Not 22-25%. So that would only give you 182 at the crank. But then again you don't have a baseline of your MINI so I don't know what to make of those results. What do you make of them?
|
I have the JCW and a K&N filter (soon to be Alta intake) - it's strong and I would venture to say 200-205hp at the crank and around 175-180hp at the wheels.
I will be dyno-ing soon......  |
My best guess is 200 to 205 hp. I was dyno'd at 178 hp at the wheels on hot motor and 90 degree plus day with the 15% pulley, Evotech ECU software, and Madness intake. Since then, I added the UUC exhaust. I will probably get another dyno run in this month. Any advice out there for Magnecor wires and going to the Denso iridium plugs in the colder heat range?
