So I got the Borla stainless steel catback for x-mas. I actually did ask for it, but when I opened the box the tailpipe is freakin huge! I am a little concerned on how it will sound now. I don't want to blow away the neighborhood, I just want something deeper then the stock exhaust. Anyone have this exhaust on their MC? Could you let me know how loud it is?

maganoo,
Merry Christmas.
Yes, the Borla for MC tip is Jumbo but nice.
The exhaust note I have heard in person is also very nice and in my opinion not too loud at all.
Louder than stock but not the loudest of all MC cat back exhausts.
I have an MCS and added the Quicksilver then later a Milltek header. It's moderately loud now.
I haven't heard any complaints from my neighbors.
Enjoy.

It's really quite tame, IMHO. I have one on my MC, and just love it... There are maybe one or two systems that are quieter, but IMHO the Borla is the best balance of sound and performance. The only time you really notice the exhaust note being louder than stock is at WOT...

The size of the outlet has little to do with the volume, anyway...

It looks great on the car, and makes a difference.

I have had it on my 2003 mini for 5 months. -Excellent exhaust and fit. It took a total of 45 minutes to install. Tone is stronger, deeper and more agressive, but isn't that what you want? It looks like a factory fit for a serious sports car.

Alls I have to say is holy freakin crap, I LOVE THIS EXHAUST!!! It sounds great (even though it's only been on for about an hour now). The tip doesn't look to big, which what was what I was afraid of. It sounds EXACTLY how I wanted!

I'm glad you are pleased. Now drive it around and scare all those Hondas.

I think the Borla for the MC is good.
Helix for the MC a bit louder and slightly more power (small).
Rspeed also good sound maybe similar to Borla and moderate power gains at lower cost.
