MiniBOL, you are correct. I can't quote numbers over the JCW tune, so I quoted power increase over the stock tune.

Using the JCW Tuning Kit on a 2011 is a bit counter productive, unless you are just keeping a warranty intact.

The exhaust pipe for the JCW Kit is a second catback system. The 2011 pipe, downpipe to first Cat measures 2.5" O.D. Immediately after the first Cat it reduces to 2.164" O.D. going to the second Cat. After the second Cat it measures 2.174" O.D.

My CatBack system measures 2.5" O.D. after the first Cat all the way back, eliminating the second Cat(which is not monitored) and throws no Codes and is a bolt on system, no cutting. Seems to go better than a stocker too

Now I am waiting for the 2011 Alta Tune capability to finish the engine mods upgrades. I suspect my warranty will have expired by the time the Tunes becomes available...

Just finished my downpipe install this evening and drove around a little bit. Didn't throw a code or anything just like you guys said! Thank you!

Side note, does it take the ECU a little while to adjust to the mod, because it has these little blips in idle, going up and down and idling a little louder. Will this go away after time as it adjusts?

WOW! An Extended Warranty. I got one for my wife's Justa but knew I wanted to play with MODs with my MCS so I did not get it for mine.

2 years left out of the 3 yr. warranty (I think it is a 3 yr total).

I believe the basic new car warranty is 4 years and or 50,000 mi. whichever comes first. It's the "Free Maintenance Program" that is for 3 years or 36,000 mi. whichever comes first.

Just more FYI

Drobinson, if the idle is still a little weird, let me know, we can send you a new map to fix it. I'll need to know the exact map that you are running, including you ECU type, what kind of car you have, and transmission.

Maintenance free 3 years, Warranty 4 years; 48,000 miles.

I don't know where your 48,000 comes from.

Must be different Warranty periods because mine says 4 years or 50,000 miles whichever comes first, not 48,000.

The MINIUSA website says 4/50,000 also.

While this warranty discussion is interesting to some people, please keep in mind that this is the ALTA AccessPORT thread. If you guys want to talk about warranties in depth, please keep it to PMs or make a new thread in another forum, thanks!

Wow, I didn't know that a rule of absolute ownership and control existed on a general subject thread.

I know that a Vendor has the ability to post threads to the "Vendor Talk" section that they can control, but I didn't know that Power and Authority extended to the 2nd Generation/Modifications/Drivetrain forum?

Hey Chris_ALTA, I can understand why you might be a bit uneasy discussing the MINI Warranty, it's coverages, and possible ways it can be voided in this thread, but I will emphatically say that it is relevant and you would be wise to avoid trying to control this discussion....

Maybe you should go post in the Vendor Talk section...

Just my thoughts regarding your attempts to control what I and others read and what we post.

Dan

I'm not saying we have absolute rule on this thread, that's up to the moderators. I'm fine with people bringing up warranty questions with the AccessPORT installed, it's been brought up in the past. We're just trying to keep this thread on topic about the AccessPORT, since this is the "Official AccessPORT Thread" after all. A couple posts are OK, but 10+ posts about rust warranty, individual's time left on their warranty, ect. doesn't directly pertain to the AccessPORT. I think most people will agree that this thread already has enough posts, making it difficult to find answers for specific questions. If you want to take this further, please send me a PM.

Hey ALTA-Chris... The only reason that this thread is the "Official" anything is because the Original Poster(You Guys) named it that. I understand that you and your people have been using it as a NO COST marketing site, but it's still just a thread in the 2nd Generation/Modifications/Drivetrain forum...

BTW, I didn't see 10 posts about rust through!

I agree with Chris and would like to see this thread stay on topic.
