so here's a question. If you are going with the best parts, why would you spend 1200 to get the top of the line CAI, but if you go the intercooler route you would just get the standard upgrade? And this isn't meant to be a personal question, but rather one of why you would choose top of line line on one and not the other. I would bet that there are intercoolers with water meth injection that are top of the line that are going to cost twice as much as the CAI

I dunno mate..

i looked at forge alta and helix..

i couldn't think of any others off the top off my head..

and my arguement was the middle of the pack FMIC would cost less and give better results than a 1200 CAI+RAI setup

meth injection is still iffy.. unreliable, lotsa plumbing, u get high on the fumes, tank runs out.. etc etc..

None of those are true!! Except for the fact that the tank will run out....

However, not all kits are created equal and you get what you pay for. They all work though.

I ran across these pics of a DIY intake on a Euro spec. It looks like he has two holes from the cowel space feeding into the sealed chamber.

sweet looks like he made a poor mans K&N kit.. replacing the intake snorkel and airbox at the same time:

where is he pulling air from tho? behind the bulk head?

I don't doubt they "work", but i wouldn't rely on it.. more as a "buffer" then anything..

this doesn't really apply in our case.. but many cars have ultra high boost tunes using meth injection.. if anything happens to that meth supply..

in this pic.. the colors represent heat... what does that corresspond to?

heat the car is pouring off? or heat from the air hitting the surfaces of the car?

Are you sure they represent heat? I think it's representing high and low air pressure zones. look at the low pressure zone in front of the windshield, the reason cowl induction air intakes work. that and why would the mirrors be red hot

I love these kinds of simulations. I am dying to see on of our MINI's

Read the caption

the Tesla photo is NOT heat, it's surface velocity of the air.

I saw the caption on the photo but also the velocity of the air can be related to air pressure, correct?
