Drivetrain JCW R56 goes 1.24.103 at Street of Willow
JCW R56 goes 1.24.103 at Street of Willow
Just heard from the ABF / MINI USA Time Attack team that after all the fuss about the 1.27s last year that they decided to go back out today and try to miss the 1.26s and go straight into the 1.25s.
The biggest problem as you can see is that Dez and the MINI went into the 1.24s and nearly missed them and ended up in the 1.23s
What is more astonshing was the above was acheived on the Yokohama 180 treadwear street tyres and not slicks
All you JCW owners dont know how lucky you are to have such an excellent platform
Since the last outing the ECU has been re-tuned by the Mynes team to have its useable power band moved upto 7500, this and other prototype engine and suspension parts have worked togeather to run this truly outstanding time.
There's nothing like proving yourself at the TRACK......

Congratulations to the Dez and the ABF crew!
Other than the Tune, the only upgrades to this car were...
Prototype Camber Plates
BSH Competition Catch Can
BSH Direct Dual Boost Tap/Block-off
BSH Heat Shield (prototype)
BSH Race Lower Motor Mount

What type of proof are you looking for exactly ?
When you posted this no one was asked you for proof why are you asking now ?
New personal record at Streets of Willow.
I managed to get a 1:28:751 this last week out on the first session. The car ran absolutely great. I drive a 06 and it finally hit the 90k mark at the track.
Specs are:

They do nothing for performance (except maybe the camber plates, but come on)...........or is that your point? That the Mynes tune is so amazing? Too bad they can't post on here to tell us about it....

I have not had a chance to talk to anyone from ABF but my GUESS would be that details will be slim and few until after the next time attack which is still weeks away. This was just a test and tune session which apparently went rather well .

Dont worry Coouuper S I wonder if I had a Bobby Ewing moment when I woke up this morning and wondered if it was all a dream
But yes its all true and I did speak to Hubie and Dez just as Dez had pulled in from that historic session, It was one of those moments that even Emma realsied that I didn't want to be on the end of the phone but really wanted to be in Cali at SOW, just like that moment at English town when the scoreboard read 10.62 @ 128 back in 2006
They were at a Time Attack pre season test and tune day so I'm sure the times will be availble on the net in the next week or so.
I have got an image of the screen with the time but to be honest you can just about work it out if you know what you're looking for.
Hubie rung me on the way home and said it was worth staying up to 4.30am in the morning putting the prototype suspension on and setting the car up.
But what has pleased him even more is that he believes the team has set the time low enough that they dont have to go back for quite a few years
A bit like the teams drag racing records its going to be a hard one to break, I mean you're going to have to aim for the 1.23s

I'll just make that a little easier to see...if you don't mind, Paul...

...congrats to Hubie, Mike and the ABF/Mynes crew...good to see some REAL results from modding the R56 MCS.

My point was to give all the information in what changes had been made to the car. I in no means mean to take away from the light of what the tune, added camber and excellent driving in Dez have achieved. The Race Lower Motor Mount adds to performance by limiting drivetrain loss.

Aaaaaaaargh! This site is ridiculous!!! No one can post any good performance results without the fanbois crawling out from under the rocks and questioning everything about it. Good grief.
Congrats to Mynes/ABF, a well deserved result from hard work.

Pride and jealousy are bad things
Stick to the topic, impressive results. Nice to see the time snap.
No need to get into a pissing match, nice to see without all the grousing.
Congratulations, good power being made and good driving.
