Reason being I can only get the 42 Draft Designs Stealth can here in the UK straight away and shipped it costs £87.60. The BSH item is £181 shipped !!!! And surely the only difference is some hoses and connectors (and a dipstick on the BSH).

I am going to need the OCC quite soon before I fit my new JCW Turbo and Evolve FMIC.
I put my own OCC system together over a year ago using the 42 DD can before BSH came out with their "complete" kit. IMO the 42 DD has a much better baffle design and in/out port arrangement. BSH's dual boost port was the final key to the puzzle making all crankcase crud go through the can. BTW, the BSH kit does not include the boost port. Had to make my own mounting bracket of sheet aluminum and used plastic hose fittings to make the connections. You don't need a dip stick to check the can. Just tap the can with a screwdriver to see how full it is. I put 42 DD's valve on the drain plug and drain the gack into a cup under the car. FYI: No OCC will completely stop the carbon fouling, just slow it way down. 24K down the hatch and it's working fine, but I still do a single Seafoam treatment about every 8K. Good Luck!

PS: That new FMIC is gonna love not being bathed in oil!

So any idea what universal accessories from 42D would be required to get it to fit and guess I need a fitment plate making up?

http://store.42draftdesigns.com/Univ...ries_c_79.html

If the baffle design is better I like the idea of that but the BSH seems a ready made solution, just at a premium over here in the UK. The BSH stuff is the same price in £ as it is in $ for some reason where as the 42 DD stuff is not. Something if wrong there !!!

I may end up having to get everything from the US anyway.

Access to back side of plastic firewall?

Just purchased a BSH CC, but have the factory alarm. I see that the can can be mounted on the plastic firewall near the bonnet alarm switch, but I can not see a way to get my hand behind it to attach a nut to a bolt to hold a bracket.

Can anyone point me to directions or provide advice on attaching a bracket to this area.

Thanks!

I mounted mine to the same location as the alarm switch and it works just fine. I did have to get a longer bolt.

to get behind the plastic wall you need to remove the wiper arms(make sure you mark their at rest location w tape) and then the plastic cowls. Then you will have clear access.

That's exactly what I plan to do. Is there a trick to getting the bolt off?

To remove the sensor:
unclip the wire
carefully release the clip on each side of the sensor that holds it into the bracket and lift the sensor straight up. I used a jewelers screwdriver between the switch and bracket.
You now have full access to the screw holding the switch bracket.

I had to enlarge the hole in the bracket to fit the bolt.

I would use it. It's simple peace of mind.

If you lost it, simply contact Justin at BSH to see if he can hook you up.

Best,

-Clint

Did you wind up putting a catch can on after your cleaning?

Catch Can with Boost Port block installed 4/4/11 @ 25,500 miles after dealership carbon blasting with walnut media.

Currently 6/27/11 @ 29,000.

This is a small pint jar, not a normal quart mason.
