Drivetrain Where to get a tune in NJ/NY area?
DMH works with Behe - he doesn't do tunes himself. He'll arrange for the car to be sent down to MD for the tune. I've never had any tuning done on my car, and it's never been on any dyno, so I really have no idea what kind of work is done. What I do know is that no matter which outfit you're asking about, it's best to give them all a call and decide for yourself. You'll hear/read lots of stuff about all of the competitors; save yourself some time, give them a call, and decide based on that.

He's taking a good beat down from the Brits on his 300 hub hp thread.

The question I ask myself is do I really want to bring this crap up.
"Facts" are out there that these tunes are dissolved by our ECUs in no time.
So much hype at the dyno day tune party. Everything is done to produce these numbers that seem to justify spending all of this money.
Marc is a friend, so I used his post to let him know that it's a waste of money. If anyone disagrees then I have no issue with that and don't intend to get into any kind of baloney battle about it.

the JCW maps are done in the same way as our tunes are along with ANY updates from the factory for software changes....... in the eprom
Here is a pic of the eprom with modifications to a stock map with the factory JCW program put on it BY THE FACTORY so people can see just how ridiculous this saying of " a tune goes away" really is.... if this was the case then BMW couldn't even do it..... What you see in RED is the Factory MODIFIED JCW file it puts OVER the standard mapping in BLUE
just more poppycock (glad I got to finally use it here) being spread around the forums as internet myths by people WITH agendas
so without further ado.... and multiple BS posts... here in lies the proof straight from BMW themself
Let's just throw this out their so everyone who isn't quite sure about how ridiculous some of the posts made by certain posters here are................

Not some hearsay from someone who doesn't even have the tools to see this for themself.

Ok now that we got that taken care of ( Like there was really ever a doubt) when are you guys heading east so some of us believers can get a good tune?
Looking foward to seeing you guys
cold is relative, especially for californians. i'm hoping for a nyc area tune.
You are so right about cold being relative, after working in Alaska I have seen an felt more snow then I care to remember. Everyone enjoys different things, the cold and snow are just not for me.
That being said coming from sunny california to the east coast in the winter can be a shocker to the system if you are not use to it.

jan - any way we can get you out here now BEFORE the weather turns cold??
seems that there are quite a few of us in the NY/Nj area ready to go- It sure would make a great x-mas present to our cars and ourselves

x2 for an early x-mas gift. anyone have recommendations on a NY/NJ dyno shop?
give me some dates
I'm interrest by a tune also. I'll drive down from quebec for that. Just need date and a range of price can be good to know also. I have a unichip but a real tune can be awesome. I'm sure some people from quebec will be interrest also to drive down NYC just for that. Let me know date and i'll check on quebec Mini Forum (http://www.clubminiquebec.com/forum/) how many people want it too.
Hope see you soon Jan.

I'll need a re-tune after I get my head and aquamist kit installed within the next two weeks so I would definately be in for a tune if Jan is coming out to the nj/ny area.
