Drivetrain Stock S exhaust mod
>>Let's keep this thread going, anyone else done this Mod or thinking about it.
I have had it done and it was the money i have spent so far, the sound is louder than stock by far but not to loud. I live in seattle area and muffler shop in algona did for under $75 . The stock system is all stainless steel why replace it for a system that costs 600 or more that is polished stainless. I have no dyno proof of gains but It truly feels good do it frist then you can always get aftermarket

OK. My car had one ball surgically removed (OUCH!)
today for $45 at my local custom muffler shop. I concur with others that the lower rpms are growlier than before with little, if any, difference when at highway speed. I LIKE IT!! Especially for the price.
I'd love to hear from some of you with more time and miles with this mod to see if you're still sold on it.
Thanks!!

I ran one-ball for a little while. There was a noticeble increase in vibration (visible at tips as well as felt in the seat) at idle wth a/c on. I've since installed an NRP. Still notice more idle vibration than stock, but not as much as with the one-ball. I can't really tell a difference between the two setups, power wise. Acoustically, the NRP is more refined and a little quieter.
bodinski,
I didn't dyno it, but logs don't show any performance difference between the Magnaflow and the One-ball on my car. The sound level is WAY lower with the One-ball, much more pleasant. I have an occassional rattle when the exhaust is hot at idle speed. I think a heat shield just needs a bit of gentle persuasion the next time I am under the car. Overall, I give the One-ball two thumbs up.

I had my exhaust modded for the one ball..
non scientific data:
sounds great.. lots of throat.. just the way the car SHOULD sound..
Willow Springs top speed at end of front straight
2 ***** 110mph
1 ball 115mph..
works for me...

Guys,
I've heard some complains about the one-ball mod where the sound is tinny or tin-like sound. Just like the clips in https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...8&page=3&pp=25
Is this true? does all of you experience the same thing?
Im serious in getting it done to my car, but I really dont want my car to sound like an empty can.
Please advise.
Thanks.

I sold the NRP & went back to one-ball for awhile. I never liked the stock tips so I had them replaced with some 3.5" magnaflows. The factory pipes come off at an odd angle & it was difficult for the shop to make the new tips sit evenly without sticking out too far. I paid to get the tips done twice & they still stuck out too far. I also noticed that changing to the large-diameter 'flow tips introduced some freaky resonance off-idle. I've since re-replaced the one-ball with a Megan (actually generic equivalent) & after some sound dampening in the car, I'm happy with it.
