Factory JCW, what's next for more HP?

a little advice please. I have a 2004 factory JCW, Mini Mania CAI, Colbalt wires, JCW exhaust. What would help me get a little better throttle response? Street car only, but tons offree way driving, so I need an immediate boost to potentially get out of the way quickly.......thanks

Smaller pulley...

it won't be as much of a bump as it is in the non-JCW MCS, but it's still a bump.

what size doc?

you would notice a difference with 15%, I also went through the exact same situation. I decided to go with a 17% ;) A detroit tuned BPV also makes a HUGE difference. It takes away any throttle delay away!

Cylinder head if you want to spend the big bucks for big power.

I have noticed a gain with lightweight wheels. If you can get under 16lbs. a rim on 17" wheels you are doing good. Mine are discontinued so I can't suggest them but they are 15.5lbs. instead of 22 for the factory wheels. It dosen't sound like that much weight but it is rotating mass versus, say, a full tank of gas worth of weight.

yeah i would say a set of allerggeritas would be the way forward. less stress on all moving components, better acceleration, handling and braking in one go!

the single 3 most restrictive parts on the mini (in myopinion, in the engine) would be
bang for the buck- the supercharger pully, but since the jcw is already like a 12% reduction, it wont be quite as much bang for you as it is for us

header-the stock collector and cat are fairly restrictive in our cars- call jan at rmw and ask for his street header

head- expensive, but the stock valves in our mini's are not great to begin with, and on top of it all are super super super tiny, and then the exhaust ports and intake ports could be a lot bigger, and polished, jans head is also pretty good, but ive heard good comments on some of the other aftermarket heads as well. this mod will really allow you to get the most potential out of the engine.

and as a 4th parts that is recommended (really i just forgot, DOH!) is the cam, which really should be done 2nd (and then with some of these mods you may want larger injectors...)
and then you will need a tune to get the most out of everything... :P
things just kind of pile on when you start modding :) and you never want to stop.
