ON STREET TIRES......... Paul says he wants transparency

show that dyno of the thumper head on the dynapack that he ran... he admitted it was 3% difference... then we can overlay a PROPERLY DONE RMW car over it and you will see the difference

be sure you understand the situation
Just so you know, the 1320 car isn't gutted and weighs 2596 lbs whereas Joves is gutted and weighs 2488lbs and I'm sure it'll run on street tires soon and be back on the dynapack.

Jan,
Not sure why you have chosen to be such an a$$ about this. While I agree you have done amazing things with RMW (I chose to have my car tuned by you), you are not the end all of Mini tuning. That would really suck if the only option to get big power from these cars was from one company.
Although I no longer have that car, I may pick up another as prices continue to fall (hence my interest in this thread). My hope is there will be a few companies to choose from offering reliable options to tune or modify my car.

you are talking to the wrong crowd here... time attack guys only need to last 3 laps or so

don't worry our parts will be tested much longer than that

Someone spent a lot of time on the polishing wheel. The water-jet plate is just silly. All in all looks like a show car engine.

Your post does not make sence. Nobody is being an " a$$ " about anything. Well Jan at least isn't being one. Also, when did Jan show any jelously or anger about other companys tuning these cars and being good at what they do ? I think it's the other way around.

I can't speak for Paul...and yes, it is pretty...but just because it's pretty doesn't mean it can't haul ***.

I dont think Jan is being and a$$..his stuff is just the standard dat everyone should try to match and try to better...and as every vendor should, defend the claims that they make..If there are new products from other companies can achieve bettering RMWs products..then there should be a contest...1/4 times, laps around a track, Dynos...Slowly but surely, RMW will be beat...Thumper's TPR-2 Head have achieved similar gains to the RMW Jesus Head with a less specced and cheaper head...

and once RMW is beat..then Jan can make more RMW products to raise the bar more...this will never end...and we as the MINI modding community hopes it never will..

totally understand your point of view. just like i rather not spend $13K+ on building a stroker 1320TVS MINI on trying to prove a point.....

unfortunately, you still miss the point of our relationship with BMW NA/MINI USA. the purpose behind building and racing the drag MINI is to demonstrate the versatility of the platform and showcase the possibilities that can be achieved with the marque, not to sell parts. the drag MINI is not anywhere close to being a purpose built fwd drag car. Its a stripped down unibody that currently is used for drag racing.
our goal continues to be exciting the community and showing the racing enthusiasts what the little MINI could achieve. going by the tremendous feedback, over 60K+ views of our youtube video from PINKS, compiled by Tuls, and probably over 1 million + people who viewed the full pass of the MINI beating a 9.90 bracket camaro on PINKS ALL OUT, i would say we did our job and far exceeded everyones expectations.

btw, i think we both agreed that i would have looked better as the pizza...

I can't believe you sold your car. It really was the cleanest Mini I've seen. But you got an M3 now right .

I think you go and get whatever you want from whoever you want. Turbo, SC or what ever adder it's all good as long as your happy. For me it's the Rotrex. It's kinda the best of both.

This thread is so dump it's not even funny.

My post makes perfect SENSE (not sence). Actually, as I read through your post, it's COMPANIES and JEALOUSY.
My point is that most of RMW's replies have been arrogant in nature. I don't see why this is necessary.

If Paul WANTED try to make an apples to apples comparison and run street tires then we would have an accurate comparison
...... look no further than his second time on drag radials and see how much slower he ran...13.67 just think if street tires were on.... probably closer to 13.9

Hey Man-
Yeah, I miss my Mini quite a bit, but love the M3. HPF may in the near future.
Glad to hear all is well with yours!

TPR-2 Vs RMW BV head is not a direct comparison to start with...Paul is just showing that a less spec'd head (and aprox US$1000 less compared to RMWs) can achieve similar types of gains...I think the times are irrelevent cos in the real world, you wont feel the 0.2-0.6 sec difference...

A direct comparison should be the TPR-3 and Cosworth BV against the mighty RMW BV head...that'll surely get everyone glued...
