can't go to the Dyno with these mods, a problem?¿

Hi everyone,

i just bought all these mods to my r53::
1.pulley 15%
2.JCW intake
3.Spark plugs
4.Alta Intercooler
5.A new Cam
6.Alta headers and 2.5 exhaust, around 1500$( are there better exhausts?)
7.JCW 380cc injectors

How many HP will gain with these mods? and i have a problem that i can't go to the dyno because here nobody haven't,and i live in an Island, is that a problem if i buy all that mods and not reflash the ECU?

thanks

With those mods I would highly recommend you have the car tuned to get optimal results.

yes i also would like to go to the dyno, bit here there aren't any, is why i ask if i would have good results with those mods without dyno

No problem, the car will work fine but not perfect.

I think you need JCW map duo to JCW injectors. You can get it from the dealer

A dyno tune is best but I ran mine with simular mods and the JCW flash for awhile, it ran pretty good too. The JCW flash will compensate for the larger injectors.

what is a JCW map duo? where can i get that online?, must be online because i can't get from the dealer as there aren't here

minimarks Jan 7, 2009 11:41 AM

No dealer there? ..... You can't get the JCW map anywhere else... Might have to look at one of those canned tunes.....

no dealer here in the island:(, what a damn...there are dealers in the other 2 island near here but not in mine..well i just bought a CD software to reflash my ECU, that would be fine i think with all that mods

minimarks Jan 7, 2009 11:52 AM

Good luck and let us know how it goes! What Island are you on?

itonano Jan 8, 2009 08:31 AM

thank you, i hope i do, will reflash my ECU with the software and my laptop but without dyno because i can't, but that's good also.
Im from Spain, and live in Menorca island, near Palma and Ibiza, search in google hehe, bye

BTW have you got any idea about Unichip?

MidniteCoop Jan 8, 2009 11:15 AM

This is supposed to be better in terms of tuning than running a unichip.
Good luck with the tune.

i saw the unichip and how to install in youtube, i think better the tune

MidniteCoop Jan 8, 2009 12:06 PM

Check out the one above i posted, this is along the lines of what you want to do, it works with your laptop and you can fine tune the ecu to work with your mods, closer to a tune than the unichip piggyback for sure.
If a tune isn't available to you.... this will probably get you the closest results..

Luys Jan 8, 2009 01:18 PM

I just said Unichip because there isn't another solution. No JCW flash no tuner

itonano Jan 8, 2009 01:41 PM

ok thanks midnitecoop, but the page dpoesn't work, i will buy a software here to work with my laptop, is similar

drsilvermini Jan 8, 2009 05:36 PM

Make sure you know what your getting into with the Unichip, I know many people have had problems with it, Im not saying not to get it, search nam for some information

MidniteCoop Jan 8, 2009 07:41 PM

links fixed sorry about that.
From what I've read this is more fine tunable than a unichip.

itonano Jan 9, 2009 09:35 AM

yes, im gonna do a tune, not a unichip
