Different MAF's?

I was wondering what all was different between the new JCW cars as opposed to the regular Cooper S's and came across that there are different part numbers for the MAF sensors on the 2 cars.

The JCW car is 13627582553

The Regular R56 is 13627542418

I wonder how they are different? Anybody have some insight? I know a while back I had a discussion about possible CEL's caused by the stock MAF sensor being overwhelmed after certain mod's, perhaps the JCW sensor allows a wider range of airflow. If so I wonder if it could solve some of those issues. Any ideas?

From what i saw before, i think the jcw has a bigger inlet tube so maybe a bigger housing is needed to fit?

Im running a JCW Inlet tube right now and its the same diameter where it mates up with the MAF sensor, I think the difference could be in the calibration

I think your right. The JC had a bigger turbo right?

The turbo housing outlet is just slightly bigger on the JCW cars.

A while back some of us were wondering if perhaps the MAF sensor was causing the ECU to freak out after installing a Piggyback and/or CAI. If the JCW unit is rated for a higher flow I think that could fix the problem, but what im wondering is if anybody knows what the real difference is in the two parts?

Has anyone puchased the JCW Mass Air Meter and installed it on a R56?
