Drivetrain RMW Exhaust Header choices
The street header with the RMW head coupled with my existing Madness cat back it much louder. And as mentioned earlier it is very RPM dependent. If I keep the revs below 3K, it is louder, but not crazy, actually almost civilized. When it is hammer time, which seems to occur more often after the RMW upgrades, it is insane loud and does not sound ricy, or even like a 4 cylinder. It is loud and it rocks.
Jan - let me know if you want to do a video some time so people like duvinclunk and others can hear what it sounds like.
sure... sounds like a plan
btw........you going to the track tomorrow?
sweet... talk to you then
bummer, its like my spark plugs... haha... this summer u better save me a cam... would you need to retune when i get the cam? how much improvement would i see with the tune after the cam??? is there any vavle train upgrades you offer to rev to like 9000rpm? that would be awesome...
Is the RMW race header longer than the street header? If I get either one and the RMW exhaust, do I still use the catback I have now? Because I like my Invidia right now, but I don't know how the RMW exhaust looks like.
The RACE header is for my MINI, with that full venturi collector. DAMN, its so sexy I might need to get 2, one for MINI, one for the wall we have been saving for a work of art.

plus some tq
Jan,
do you have a dyno graphs comparing the two ? or can you share a verbal comparison write from your experiences with each ? Perhaps you've done it previously and I missed it but this might be a good place to add it for those trying to pick a header.
Also can you share how extensive it is to use the race header for a street application. The work entailed to add your race header and cat to a street exhaust system.
PS - both look great.

what you typically will see is the long tube will come in sooner and give more top end performance. The key though with the race header is it allows you to custom tune each car with the collector. Downside: LOUD and requires full exhaust modifications.
For the money and ease of installation. (not having to modify your current catback) the shorty does a great job. The most we have gotten with the shorty is 258whp. The most on the Race was 299.7whp
On the M45 279whp on the experimental mule
there are 3 other cars running 260whp+ on the race header
I have a few more engines sitting here ready to ship out that will make those numbers and 1 of them will be on a track down in Florida
