The clamps to the rear of the pic have rusted to nothing on my 04 MCS. Anyone know a suitable replacment? Thanks

Most boating stores carry Stainless steel clamps like those.

The clamp is not really just a t-clamp, it's a double saddle design, like this one:

This is a walker 82501 from a Peugot 106. I can't find it anywhere, and Remus USA told me to call Austria!

The SS clamps are superior.

Thanks, but they are for a different application, a slip fit... What the Remus has if you look toward the back of the pic above is a union of two flared joints with a round steel donut in between. The clamp squeezes the flares against the conical donut making a seal. A flat band will not squeeze everything together.

Tried them thanks Adam :( The only thing I have found is a Walker repair kit, which has two clamps with a spring that you assemble that squeezes the joint together. They were $20/ea, I am going to try them tonight.

It also looks like a Bosal Audi 80/VW vanagon clamp may be the same, but I cannot find any dimensions.

Thanks

No, but I am going to try a vband type like that next. I drove 40 miles today to get a set that didn't work out :(

I took some good measurements tonight, but it is the exact clamp in the photo above, the same as on the Peugot 106. Bah, what a pain!

I may also just cut off the joint and use one of these:

Is that the correct part number? I did find a listing of Walker clamps at partsAmerica.com. Otherwise, you may have order from France.

Good to know that the clamps rust away. I haven't installed the Remus yet; I will try a high-temp coating on the clamps and upgrade the bolts.

I called Walker, they do not offer that part to us :( I did find that it looks identical to the Bosal Audi 80 / VW transporter exhaust clamp, I ordered two different sizes from parts authority for 5 & 14.00 respectively. This is a drag. Local muffler shop offered to for $250, chop my nice remus to bits and weld it together. Buzz.

If the two clamps don't fit, I am dropping the muffler, using an air hacksaw to remove the two flanges and using butt joint clamps. The problem is that these pipes seem nonstandard in size.

I emailed all remus addresses I could find. This is the "after sale" part that they aren't doing so well at. I do wish the PO of my car had selected Invidia or Millitek!

Look up a ford 8n or 9n parts page they have a clamp that looks exactly like that for the tailpipe muffler assembly. Just bought a new one for my tractor for about $6.00 plus shiping.

You mean like this? I hope it's one size fits all.

Yes. IT WILL EXPAND and hopefully will handle the problem. Price is right even if you have to order one to see if it will work . Good Luck.

I'm sure it would crack, these clamps allow a small amount of pivot. I found a Bosal exhaust clamp that looks right, bosal #254-930. Yes, it's $4.00!

http://www.amazon.com/Bosal-254-930-Clamp/dp/B000CF3GN6

I need to fit it but I think the case is closed.

How's the fitment? It seems Amazon, itself, carries the clamp at $17 a pop in case you need more. The amazon seller that's linked seems to have very limited stock - just one.
