I actually got mine done in the OC because I work down there...
Exhaust Depot has made the same custom exhaust for a plug and play, check out this thread https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=147090

Yup, and its mandrel bent vs these press bent ones. I can sell you guys a pipe kit too if you only want the mandrel bent piping that way you can have your shop put what ever muffler/tips you want.

If I go with 2.5" piping in lieu of the 3" piping, do I just need the same magnaflow muffler with a 2.5" inlet? Any help asap is appreciated. Thanks.

I see the outlet is 2.5 but the tips are 2.25.Why dont they have the tips 2.5 also?

On the sound clip on the 3rd page i believe,is that without the resonators?

To the OP,did you use the resonators or eliminate them ?Did you also use a high flow cat?

This is the sound on an exhaust that i want but did everyone that did it this way see a performance gain or is it just a better sound?

that would be correct! i would assume it would cost less too since its really just a muffler change.

i kept the second stock cat so performance gain, if any, is really negligible. I figure bigger piping is good for possible future mods, in case someone comes out with a good turbo upgrade.

Im pretty sure the tips taper from 2.25 to the 3 inch outlet size so the shop can just cut the tip and weld on the muffler where the diameters match.

I kept the stock cat but got rid of the muffler.

hey guys, for now I just am going to replace the tips for aesthetics. Can someone please tell me what size tips I need to fit the stock exhaust? Sorry if it's listed here but I am on my iPhone and it could take a while to find. Thanks !!

I'm also wondering how the rolled edge ones would look and if they would even fit?

Which length do I need for stock exhaust?

Rolled edge tips look the best to me. It just looks more finished and professional.

Also wondering the same.

unfortunate that the video links are dead for the most part too.

I am thinking of doing this my self but looking at several different mufflers

#14221 - Mirror Finish - 3" in - 3" core - dual 2.5" out - 14" body length
#14218 - Mirror Finish - 2.5" in - 2.5" core - dual 2.5" out - 14" body length
#12158 - Satin Finish - 2.5" in - 2.5" core - 2.5" dual out - 14" body length
#12288 - Satin Finish - 3" in - 3" core - dual 2.5" out - 18" body length (OP Muffler)

I wonder what the length difference between #14221 and #12158 would do for sound and tone.

that would be awesome, Which muffler and pipe diameter did you use and did you keep the second cat and res?

I would like to do 3" from DP back with 2nd cat and Res delete into the #14221 muffler with the #35121 tips.

#12288 is the way to go. Too bad it doesn't come in a mirror finish. I really wanted that.

The stock box is only 12" long, the mirror finish box #14221 is only 14". I know that the pipe diameter is larger but I don't think the length isn't enough to give a deeper tone.

Although I am interested in what the 14221 would sound like.

Sounds great. I want to get this done asap. Any drone at speed or crazy noise levels while driving?

I also did a little more searching around and found that Magnaflow does make a polished 18" body muffler.

#14258 is a 2.5" - 2.5" - 2.25"
#14278 is a 3" - 3" - 2.25"
#14288 is a 3" - 3" - 2.5"
#14298 is a 3" - 3" - 3"

Those are all polished and I looked up the different sizing in case anyone wants to do a different diameter system or different tips.

I am thinking now I will go with the #14278 because the right sizing for the outlet and the Magnaflow tips or the #14298 for a full true 3" straight through exhaust instead of having it neck down at the very end of the system. Decisions decisions...

good to hear, I went by my shop today to ask about getting it done didn't really give me a price though.

Also when asked about the secondary cat delete he kinda freaked lol but then told me he could have it taken care of.

2007, did you keep your second cat and res though? this is kinda of important to me, I know the sound will change drastically with either of these left in place or removed.
