Which is better of these filter ?
I have JCW CAI box and i want to change it. I don't know which one is the best for more HP. Alta, Mini-Maness or K&N CAI?
without silicon.
Thanks for every body from now

I think you need a filter made for the JCW airbox, but that could be wrong. I like the ITG filter.

the Madness filter looks very similar to the Amsoil filter khuevo posted about. As for swapping the JCW box out for something else....I just went the other way...DDM box to a JCW/Amsoil combo.

I think you'll find that all of them are pretty similar. At most a 1-2 HP difference between them...
Save your $$ and just get an itg or k&n filter, maybe a supercharger pulley if ya want more hp. But not an entire CAI if ya already have JCW. I like the ITG filter from minispeed and removing the flap from jcw as well as lower plug.
You should probably try a flapectomy as mentioned by howsoonisnow1985 before you ditch the JCW intake. From what I've heard, those that have done the mod love it.
An intake isn't going to give you a lot of HP gains, no matter what the brand - they are all somewhat better than stock, but don't expect a change from brand to brand to work miracles. From what I understand, it mainly comes down to what sound you like best.
These are the ones I considered before ordering the DDM.
Alta - most pronounced sound. Devotees love it. In fact, they listen to it instead of their car stereo. I'm not kidding. Pretty easy install, from what I hear. Anecdotal reports by Alta owners say that theirs give the biggest HP gains.
JCW - most subdued and polite sound below the RPMs needed to open the flap (4500, if I recall correctly), but then it opens up. But you know that. May avoid warranty headaches if unmodified (and installed at a dealer shop).
Dinan - similar to JCW with flapectomy - nonmetallic box with a similar "factory" look to your JCW. Have to make a hole in the factory cowl barrier to let air in (template included). Uses a paper filter. Could possibly give less warranty grief if your Mini dealer is also a Dinan dealer.
Webb Sportbox - an interesting option you haven't mentioned. Made of metal. It's the largest of intake boxes with option ($75) to grab some of the airflow directly from the hood scoop. Uses a cleanable foam filter. This is Randy Webb's in-house design which he created after he stopped selling the next entry in the list.
DDM - formerly the Webb HDI intake, now sold by M7 (and others? not sure). A metal unit smaller and less expensive than the Webb Sportbox. Uses a cleanable foam filter. Loudness is short of the Alta, but more than the JCW.
I think the downside to the JCW and Dinan is the non-reusable paper filter they rely on, but aftermarket suppliers can apparently be used as replacements. The JCW also requires extra installation time/effort to accomodate the flap opening/closing mechanism, but since you already have it in place, that's a non-issue.
the different dimensions to consider are these
1) foam vs. paper
2) initial price (including installation if you aren't mechanically inclined)
2a) follow up costs: paper filter replacement price, cleaning kit for foam
3) fully enclosed vs. non-enclosed. Some designs have a top which seals against the bottom of the bonnet. Others are fully enclosed. Not sure if there is a big difference in performance.
4) material: metal (may conduct heat at standstill) vs. composite (may build up heat over time and not release it as quickly as metal).
hope this helps,

Shameless plug coming...........wait for it..................
ALTA for sure! Look there are some major minor differences between them. The big one is the filter and how much cold air is allowed in and how well it is isolated from the rest of the engine. The ALTA was the first with this type of design, plus the silicone inlet hose (which you can add to any of them) is good for some significant gains.
Check out the link HERE to some testing we did on this very subject. Used a GP (very similar to your JCW) for testing. Hope that helps!
Let me know though if I can help further. You may also want to look at the level of support on the products before and after the sale.
Thanks for even considering the ALTA!

data por favor. I've yet to see anything that lends credence to the silicone hose being worth the effort performance wise. perhaps it's been posted before...link me please (something that isolates it's benefits)
