Call Jan and set up a tunning day. You just need to get enough cars.

I will put this in front of the PDX Mini board. I'm sure there will be enough interest to justify a trip up here to do this.

I am going to a dyno day in Bellingham washington saturday December 15 at Merridian Performance Services if anyone is interested. I know its a late notice. It starts around 830 am ...Here are the details- http://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2161790

I want to find out if my dinan 6 software is doing the job since I dont have the dinan high pressure fuel pump in exchange for 400cc injectors. I also have a high performance head with a schrick cam which probably needs a different ECU tune, or maybe not. I will find out and post my numbers-

Jan likes at least 10 cars.

Oh Ya, M7 doesn't tune cars.

M7 does tune cars but you have to go to them. They use the same software as Jan.

Anybody have an idea approximately how much money per car we're talking about for such a custom tune?

Sorry but they don't tune. They might sub-contract Emil from Vitesse Pro to tune.

From Jan it's $350 plus Dyno time of about $100 on average.

Your right, I'm new to all of this. Emile works at Vitesse and is the US rep for DIM Sport. He does their tuning which can be done through M7 the people who helped me with my car. Emile offered to tune it as best he can If I sent in a list of mods with a wideband dyno result sheet including air to fuel info. I am trying to see if someone can come here!

Longboard is correct. We are an authorized dealer for Vitesse Pro and have Emile the Dim Sport rep for the US to do our tuning for us . We figured why reinvent the wheel when the Pro is right around the corner . I for one don't want to go back to school if I can help it

What about Puget sound chapter Minis? Can anyone there post an announcement to get more cars? That would be awesome if Jan came up here. His price sounds fair =)

I like to watch

I've changed my thought process, I'm going to visit George at Mini Madness down in Oregon. My hour long conversation with him has "opened my eyes", and I've become a bit more wise. Please do your research. However, I'd love to meet the folks that are in the Bellingham/Vancouver/Everett et.al. It would be great to see what performance toys and tools you all are working on and if you all get on the "have Jan come vist" idea.It would be cool to meet him. I'd love to come watch and see.

Good luck with that George is a nice guy, but needs to lighten up a bit when it comes to other products. He is certainly not the know all, end all of Minis.

copy that.

I agree that George is a good guy and also may not be the all-knowing entity-who is?
I will state that in my conversations with numerous companies and individuals, I learned a lot of things that I did not know and may help to form my future decisions.(I'm new to MCS elitists) I'm an old BMW 2002 guy, huge ego's in our own right!
I learned alot, he listened to my questions, and answered them, and even if I were to choose to buy products and services from MM or another company or individual. I enjoyed the conversation, respect ,and patience shown to me during a time that any of us would rather be spending with our family or wrenching, or working. I don't know about you, but, I was raised with the thought that with the basics of good communication, and respect , politeness,to your potential customers , as well as your current customers was a factor in how you do business. although I'm quite new to the MCS experience, I look at his history and the performance of the company ,and of the products and ideas that are being promoted. Thanks for your commentary and I appreciate your ideas as well. All for the increased info base on our toys.

If it looks like a date starts to materialize, PM me. I'd be more than happy to post somthing on the Puget Sound MINI Motoring Club board.

I would be willing to bet you'd get another car or two from them.

Hey folks! We are prepping for a tuning event in Portland, Oregon. I know it is a bit of a jaunt, but it might be worth it. We have the inhouse dyno and the tuning software. We will be coordinating this with the PDX MINI group and the PS MINI group. This should happen in February- March ish. E-mail or PM me if interested.

I am very interested, Portland isnt that far away and its a great city! My dyno sheets say that my air/fuel ratio is pretty good but is there room for more power if everything appears to be fine? What is usually done to get more power from a car that runs within tolerance?
How much will it cost?
Thanks!
