Hi All,

I just got my MINI Cooper. This yesterday, when I turn on the car, the battery light kept bliking on and off. After I drove for 10 minutes, it stop. According to owner's Manual, it does not mention about the blinking light. However, it says "The battery is no longer being charged. Indicates a defective alternator drive belt or a problem with the charge circuit..." Do you have this kind of problem before? Do I ready have to take the car to the dealer soon?

Please help.

Thank you.

ultramini-
welcome to MCO,
Yes it sounds like you should take your MINI to the dealership and have them check why the light is on.
I hope everything else is working OK.

Mine flickered yesterday morning for about 10 seconds upon starting up in the morning, but then went out and didn't come back on. Haven't driven the car today. Have less than 300 miles on the car.

I figure if it comes on and stays on, or does it flickers everytime I start off, then it's time to head to the dealer.

Hello ultramini,

I had the same problem and it was mentioned in earlier thread. My local dealer, MINI of Hawaii fixed the problem by replacing the alternator under warranty. I haven't had the problem since then.
