^^^ if you have a DFIC right? because i was under the impression that having a bigger scoop with the stock diverter/IC would be money down the drain

And does the ram looks almost like the OEM or does it has a little spoiler like the extreme one?

I have the extreme and the alta diverter and I think the combo is great. The problem is, seeing any gains at all. Personally I think that I do see some BIG gains from the combo, but there really isnt any way to prove them both.

The diverter can be proved on a dyno, but the scoop is a different story. When I go to the track I put ice into my washer resivour to drop the water temp even more then just water. (I found some sweet bottle shaped ice trays that fit right down the fill spout)

When you get your car out on the road and moving at some good speeds I think the scoop really shows its benifits. lately I have been reading a lot about IC's and their draw backs. The combo makes sense to me cause you can defeat the biggest problems with the stock IC. ie: heatsoak (spray that baby at a stop), etc....

and you wont see the downsides from the "upgraded" IC's. ie: heatsoak, recovery time, fitment issues, COSTS!!!, etc......

Im looking for something which looks like the first pic, If the ram intake looks like the second one, Ill probably get the air diverter. I want to keep my OEM appearance.
Is yours the Ram or the Extreme?

From my experience, much of which is documented here on NAM, including mutliple temperature measurements and reports, there are measurable gains in efficiency, lower approach and recovery from using the Alta diverter (which can be modified for improved performance) and the Ram intake scoop. The scoop works regardless of which IC you have, and the Alta diverter can be modified to fit all TMICs.

cheers,

Mine is the Ram scoop (same as the second picture). See here for more photos. I wouldn't fret it much in terms of not being OEM. What's the point of modding your car if you want it to completely look OEM? It's a good looks/performance mod for low cost. That's just my 2c

Realistically, you will not notice any gains from these mods. Have you done a pulley?

I've got the m7 ram air scoop and the alta diverter. Excellent combo. I can go out and beat the heck out of my car and one side of the intercooler will be too hot to touch and the otherside will be as cool as if hte car had been sitting over night.

Also it recovers from heatsoak near immediatly. Well... i mean the heatsoak that you get in stop and go... of course it won't fight the terminal heatsoak that a tmic car will get.

Actually that photo is informative in a number of ways. It's an M7 Ram, with the stock IC diverter. You can see how much of the incoming air is "wasted" against the front of the diverter. That's why you need the Alta, but it must be modified, or you can fab-up your own diverter. It's just metalwork 101, not too hard.
