I won't call it a cold-air intake because I know better, but is anyone familiar with this intake?

K&N Apollo 57A-6033 for R56 2007 MINI Cooper S



Admittedly I saw it on eBay and figured it was a knock-off or someone mistakenly saying it would fit a R56 but sure enough K&N's web site has it as available.

Any ideas? Has it been out for a while; has anyone tried it? Any vendors have it so I can send you my $$$?

I used to run an AEM ram-air in my Focus but in the humid Summer months it just hurt my power overall. Any ideas on the super-hot turbo engine bay on the new Cooper S and a ram-air induction?

 

We are testing a ram air system now that is a complete airbox, similar in idea to the R53 SportBox. I would wait it out, I know there are a few different guys working on it other than us too.

any info on this intake? It says it route air from the front grille but i cant seem to figure out where the filter actually gets relocated to.... hopefully someone can find some engine bay shots with this installed.

 

This is only for the MC not the MCS. On the site, check out their instructions and look at the engine bay pictures.

it is a CAI for the 1.6 turbo the filter is in that thing that says K&N

 

There is another company making one for 2007 MCS

You will need to scroll down to the item. It comes with the K&N air filter. I contacted them yesterday and they are out of stock for another week or two. I tried to attach the picture of it but I was unable to do so. Has anyone dealt with this company?
