Drivetrain UUC Exhaust
I know, I know, I know...this is an old topic, but any updates (Randy?) on the UUC exhaust???? It's getting harder and harder every day to resist giving in and getting the Magnaflow, but I don't want to get that and find out a week later that I made a mistkae. It seems like they promised Randy that system over a week ago; this is kinda sounding like Mini-Mania service to me!!! jkjk
Thanks for the help!

Seriously! What's going on with these exhausts? Right now for me, it's between the Borla, Borla Racing, quicksilver with dual tips or the UCC. I'd say Borla is leading but VERY anxious to hear about the UCC. I'm not a very patient man...
Seeing the Italian Job for the second time last night REALLY made me want to give my MCS a more distinct "racing" type sound, just ot be different. I'm leaning towards the Borla and UCC b/c I think less people have them.
So far I know this much:
Borla - closest to stock tips (I like that), great sound, not very loud, no drone, decent power gains, million mile warranty. Since I'll be over 100k miles in 3 yrs, I'd like an exhaust I can move to my next MINI. This is how I'm justifying the cost.
Borla Racing - Louder (too loud???), probably sounds great at full throttle and idle although don't know, drone unknown, possibly more power with lots of mods. Basically a lot of unknowns.
Quicksilver - 1/2 the weight of stock, very good power, very good sound, very little drone (or none), dual tip option (I like that - is it available yet?)
UCC - Sounds incredible, looks incredible - but this is only from pics and videos. No actually data or dynos yet. Heck, no finished product yet!!!
Hopefully we can get some updates soon...

And Magnaflow has been ruled out because? Drone? Less than expect HP with other mods?
I have the "Flow" and have had NO Drone issues. The joints are welded, not clamped and tips are flush with the rear skirt.
My assumption is that you have heard the Magnaflow first hand and it was too loud or droned, right?
Have you thought about the stembo system? Or is that in the same ballpark in terms of cost as the supersprint? Have you thought about the Playmini system out of the UK...only based on what I've heard on line...sounds the sweetest....even sweeter than my Magnaflow...check it out
Just my 2 cts

His, Chile RED all over / Hers, EB UJ on top

We are rapidly closing in on June and it has been many months of waiting for UUC to materialize-
RandyBMC-
Can you give us any update on the UUC exhaust-
Did you even get it for testing yet? And this is every two weeks they tell you it will be ready next thursday!
Also Randy- any idea when and how much for the dual tips on the Quicksilver? I was part of your group order but I would like the dual tips when I install it. thanks

I talked to RandyBMC today and the UUC is well-
Still on order with one or two more weeks- sound familar?
He says that once he gets the first units then more will follow as the production will gear up by then.
Just have to patiently wait for the goods to arrive- I'm sure that Randy will let us know- especially if he is impressed.

I'm with you MiniPilo, my local BMW performance shop who races MINI's swears by the NRP exhaust, and he has tried six others. NRP will likely be on my car in two weeks, along with the H-Sports springs, Madness swaybar (I hope there are no issues), and I may go to the Pulley sooner than I had planned. It is so hard to be patient when you know the car is just crying out for a few changes!
The UUC is still "two weeks out"
. I promise to let you know as soon as it gets here how it does.
The NRP has different design parameters that it meets nicely - primarily sound.
Let me know if you have other questions.

Randy,
Did you get any numbers yet on the NRP Exhaust. I have one and the sound is awesome. I recently raced my MCS and people loved the sound coming out of it on the straightaway going 110MPH. I am still waiting on numbers for horsepower. Have you tested the NRP yourself. Are you still planning on testing it?
Thanks,
Carl

SuperC,
Nice to hear that you are happy with your NRP Exhaust. I am planning on getting one installed in two weeks. Would be nice to hear what the HP/Torque gains are though. The NRP looks very lightweight and uncomplicated. Are you also running with the pulley?

GoSaharks,
The NRP system is very simple. It only uses one clamp. This means there are less seams to seal. The system was really easy to install. The quality is top notch. The bends it has to clear the battery box seems to function to add some back pressure for better performance in the low end revs. The sound of the system seems to be getting deeper as it ages a bit. Sincerely, it really sounds great. The drone inherent in the stock system is gone with the NRP. The system is really quiet during normal driving, but when you goose the throttle, it sounds like an F1 race car. I have not done the pulley upgrade. The only upgrade coming is a Mini-Madness Intake, LW wheels and non runflat performance tires.

SuperC,
Thanks for the extra review on the NRP. There was a thread yesterday about doing Mods for California drivers. I have the Madness Intake (which I could easily switch back to stock if I had to), and I want to go to the NRP, if the sound is fairly mellow, I shouldn't have any issues with the Highway Patrol. According to Cal law, the police don't even need a db meter, it just takes their "opinion" if it is too loud (thankfully, I didn't get the Magnaflow!). Does the sound at idle and say 3k to 4k RPM's pass the casual observer test for sound? I really appreciate your opinion, I plan on letting my local performance shop know my decision tomorrow.

I've had the NRP System since February. I love everything about it.
It is built like a TANK, thicker steel, tig welding, thicker flange.
It is only loud when you want it to be, at high revs. It took me 30min to pop it on, and i think i've devised a way to get the stock tips on it as well

I was on the phone to RandyBMC yesterday asking about the UUC.
He said that it did not arrive yet.But that if he put on his swamy turbine
He could see that in the future it will arrive in about...
Two Weeks!

I did IT!! I went to this muffler shop in Orange Park Fl. and had JR's modify my exhaust!! UN REAL!!! it is a bolt in and out system... the Sound is awesome British sports car and the power...?? well the Power is there(?).. it does pull harder.. exhaust note is just right, and the top end is still there!! Figure on a lean condition with less back pressure!! OH yeah... 135 MPH just clearing 5th at 6800 RPM!!
The first thing we did was to cut the original system and add flanges to bolt it to gether... then we pulled the pass side muffler OUT, and added a connector pipe ( with flanges) from the straight pipe to the dr side muffler... unreal sound... and NOT the 300.00 and up system to get the same effects!! and when I need the muffler back in.... its just a bolt on!! Total cool!! if I knew How to put pix on this thing I'd show ya!! NOT the ricer sound... just good ole british TR3 type or the old Abarth exhaust sound!! I love it!!
