The plow isn't for you! It's for the rest of us on summer tires or slicks!

How about a tow strap and we can play crack-the-wip?

Better yet, let’s all think SPRING!

Me thinking 'spring' doesn't seem to be doing much to stop the snow from falling this morning. Any other brilliant ideas?

It looks like tomorrow will be acceptable, VV. However, I definitely don't like the schedule for the orange group. The last session is very late.

I'll gladly take good weather over a crappy schedule. See you tomorrow!

I hope to be there before 11. It will be nice to meet up.

On another note, Wilwood has a couple of new-ish brake pads for the track: BP30 and BP40. I got a set of the BP30s to try at LRP when I go (maybe the end of May).

Thanks again for the advice on setting the coilovers. By the end of the day I was feeling pretty frisky out there!

And in honor of our friend Slinger, who started this thread over 8 years ago, I am pleased to announce I wore at least one tire to the cord!

I wish I knew who wilwood has make the pads, I tried some of the BP-40 they do not even have a chart to show what they are rated at, they were cheap though.

unfortunately they only lasted me one weekend at carolina motorsports park, it was wet/raining most of the weekend, but this track is also hard on brakes and I was extending braking zones due to the rain. They did not fade and I liked how they performed other than wear, I use brake temp paint, I was running 900 degree rotor temps, I ordered some bp-30 to try out and keep as spares

Here’s to Slinger. One to always have fun at the track.

Good to see you and VV and glad to hear the adjustments to the coilovers worked for you. Frisky, Eh! Sounds like you had a good time.

VV - how’d your day go? When I left, you sounded good about things. A nice prep day for WGI.

GKP - I think you were right about the adjustment to make if you soften the RSB. Just add a couple of clicks to the rear shocks to get to a happy median.

Not sure what to say. As you probably thought, I would have expected them to last longer than that. I too have a set of the BP30 pads that I will try at the end of May. By the Wilwood charts it seems that they are similar to the Poly H I have used.

Vgggi - how was WGI? That was last week, right?

On an other note, it looks like Dunlop has come out with a new version of their Z tire, the ZIII (of course). The price makes it a pretty nice deal.

Hey, just over a week and it is 2 days of Lime Rock Park. Woo Hooo!
And I am excited about trying out my new Bigger and fatter brake kit (BFBK).

Anyone else thinking of going? It would be great to see some other MINIs there.

I'm going to pass on LRP and do Palmer on 6/1.

Have you been there before?

I know veggi went last year and ran it “backwards”. I went and ran it “forwards”. Lot of turns to learn.

Oh, I think I found the cause of the mysterious leak I had at Palmer last year on on of my tires. The tire leaked air when I came off the track after one session and then was fine after I pumped it up. It was the valve stem seal. The tire lost air over the winter and didn’t hold air when I put it on the car. But then it seemed fine when the tire guy looked at it. That was when I asked them to pull the tire off and check the bead. When he went to pull out the guts of the valve stem to let the air out, the valve stem seal fell apart. The bead was fine. That was a couple days ago and the tire is still ok.

Yes, twice, the first year it opened. I hear there have been a lot of improvements.

Hey, guys. I just had to scratch from Friday at Palmer. My clutch started making bad noises — probably the throw out bearing and there's no way I'll be able to get it fixed by Friday. If Elivan allows it, does anyone want to take my place for $200?

Ugggha!

We are not doing well with this. I missed LRP earlier this week because of a family thing that came up suddenly.

Gentlemen: Do any of you run a non-OEM clutch/flywheel assembly?

Running stock.

What are you looking for about a non-stock setup?

Yup. After talking to a few techs, I am going to put in flywheel which is basically OEM but from the company that makes it for MINI, not MINI-branded. And a SPEC clutch. The overall cost will be less than MINI OEM and the SPEC clutch should be an upgrade.
