OctaneGuy's Shop Grand Opening Event

Hey everybody, just thought I'd post some details on my Grand Opening event at my shop today.

This picture is for Heather (the sign I made for my door--notice who is bigger!)

And this is my MINI this morning packed with 4 boxes of Prima and the rest packed with all my detailing gear, may not look like much, but remember, my rear seats have been pulled out and the Prima boxes took its place.

My Banner before it fell down.

Showing how to use an electronic thickness gauge to measure paint thickness before buffing.

Bar10girl stopped by to show her support!

Even my yet unnamed "magic goo" got demoed on how well it removes dried wax, and restores the black trim. The owner used only a couple of drops on a foam applicator pad and very light passes cleaned and dressed in one step!

Another car that did a test of my gel doing only half of it.

All in all a great day. Check out the link to see more!

Congrats Richard! Best of luck to stay open for years and years, maybe one day, you can detail my hover craft :)

So, is the magic goo for sale? Is it safe on paint (sorry, I haven't been reading the 'name the special sauce' thread)?

No not yet--I'm still making revisions to the formula. AMVIV attendees will get to play with it next week, and a poll is going up in a few minutes on finalizing the name of this product.

Yes it's safe for paint--if you get it on your paint, a little wiping with some Prima Slick will clean it off.

Congrats on the Grand Opening, Richard!!

The signs/banners look great... and yes, I did immediately notice which brand was bigger on the sign. :)

By the way, I'm beginning to wonder how you treat your bottles of Prima...

In the second photo it looks like the quart of Epic is trying to roll away again!!   Are you not making the bottles feel welcome? They have feellings you know. Or, perhaps they're just rebels to begin with.

Seriously though, congrats again!! Now I'll have to go check out the SCG link...

Hahah, I didn't even notice those bottles! Did you notice that Epic was almost empty???? LOL. I think that's why he was running away---he didn't want me to use him up and end his life, so he hid deep in the back until I surprised him and opened the boot!!!

Thanks for the comments!

Richard

   Yeah, maybe that was it... he was just trying to avoid death!!  :)

I think he was also worried because he knows how much I like to share him with everybody! My Amigo is standing proud and tall because well, she's a bit more full and has less to worry about. Not that I don't like to share my Amigo---but I like to keep her for myself.

I'm from SoCal, but stationed in DC, and moving to Guam. :(

My wife's in SoCal with our F150 though. Do you have a ladder? :)

OctaneGuy Mar 18, 2007 01:00 PM

Hahah, oh Hmm I hope Heather doesn't kill me for this, but this is how I thought My Amiga looked like!

im working under lighting on my silver car. :)

OctaneGuy Mar 20, 2007 12:02 AM

Thanks everyone!!!

Well as far as Norcal is concerned--I do have to make a trip up to see Heather and Nick one of these days-and there are lots of stops along the way on this 15hour drive....lol.

Ken--those are Home Depot safety glasses! I wear them when I use the rotary buffer--seems everytime I forget to, I get a face full of polish--happened to me today on a car I was working on! LOL.
