Mystique Auto Wash contains some polymer so it does give any wax a little boost every time you wash. It's mostly for that immediate satisfaction when you wash your car- it's always more fun when you step back after washing and it really shines! The polymer in Mystique doesn't have a ton of long-term benefit in terms of the polymer in it- just a week or so of additional light protection, in most cases.

In reply to your frequency of Epic application question: we have been seeing 5-6 months of protection/durability from Epic on daily drivers (read: cars which are driven daily and are not garaged/covered). This assumes that it's being applied on cleansed or otherwise properly prepped surface. In some cases, some of the glossiness fades a month or so before the full protection wears off. However, with the way you guys use Slick and/or Hydro, you won't even see that! Most importantly, you're protection will last the full run of 5-6 months.

last night, I looked at it under the bright lights in a supermarket shopping center and it looked like I might have missed buffing some spots off completely (sloppy work, losing light, etc.)... but today it looked okay.

by the time I got out today, though, it was already sprinkling a little bit... no real hard rain, but overcast with some sprinkles. so the car was a little bit wet. (I knew it was supposed to rain today, but wanted to take advantage of the nice weather yesterday and clean it a bit -- the wheels were filthy).

still, the car looked great... like Heather mentioned earlier... Hydro does give a nice shine... similar to what Slick does.

I didn't realize you could apply Hydro dry... I thought it had to go on with the car wet, but I could see how it could be used as a QD... still, for my taste (and no I didn't taste it!) Slick seems to have a bit more lubricity (what a word ).

in the end... I like it and I'm happy to have it.

Now if we could just skip over this "winter" thing... guess I shouldn't complain... it's not 'that' cold here.

^^ yep, it's like you can use Epic during the warmer months and
just Hydro it during the colder months where Epic would not apply well.

year-round solution.

^ yeah, that's exactly why I bought it too... and application is really very easy... like QD'ing the car, basically. when you don't have the warmer temps and don't want to stand outside... or just want to give your washed car a little extra shine but don't have the time to do a whole wax... the Hydro works well.

Hydro is a great product, but Epic is worth its weight in gold (i don't know how much epic weigh's, or how much that weight in gold costs, but you get the point.)

This seems like the wrong thread for this observation. Perhaps you would like to rephrase that?

I think that I will stick with Slick for QDing and use the Hydro after washing , that's just me though. I like the Hydro, but Slick is so much more slicker.

Thats great mini dreams, very interesting.
I was, however referring to the entire statement. I assume your reference was to car detailing and not dating tips.
Oh never mind, i just read it the wrong way that's all. Sorry.

+1 i tried Hydro on my wheels as QD a few weeks ago
and it didn't work too well. i switched to Slick and the brake dust came
off much easier... or "quicker" shall i say?

from my actual experiement, Hydro does not have much lift capabilities.
Slick should be used as QD (if from Prima line).

ok, you are free to go.

but if you hydro after each wash, you probably wont need to epic your
car any more...

i think i may. i use it so much that it would pay for itself soon enough. i just need to get some customer cars lined up. the problem is people dont really care about their cars right now, especially since ODOT is emptying just about every salt pyramid tonight.
