Let's hear the 2007 New Years resolutions for Detailing! lol...

1) Name one resolution/bad detailing habit you have that you will
try not to repeat in 2007.

2) Name one major milestone you want to achieve.

For me...

1) Resolution:
I will try not to swear (*cusses* per ML) each time i drop my
clay, or pad, or MF towel, or anytime the hose gets stuck under
a tire...

2) Milestone: cut carwash + detail time from 45min per car to
less than 30min without increasing swirls. Im thinking about
using bug-removal spray from Wizards, that alone should probably
cut about 5min during the summer months when bugs are
everywhere. also going to try a better water hose and nozzle,
maybe that Mr.Clean autowash rinse too.

I'm going to try to get my Suburban in as good a shape as my MINI. Now that I have a PC, it's actually in the realm of possibiity...

Just one?! How about nine?

1) Finish the Restoration on my MINI tomorrow (part one here ). As a part-time "enthusiast" detailer, I am embarrassed to be driving around in my MINI right now, because it has some light swirls in it . I just have been too busy lately to give it the polish it deserves. (It's not really my fault it is swirled...the dealership ignored my request of NOT washing the MINI, and in return, put some nice swirls in it! Thanks MINI of San Antonio. Next Time I am putting signs in the cars, you jerks ).

2) No more "quick" washes in the driveway at 8:00PM in complete darkness .

3) Keeping the MINI away from rain if possible .

4) Waxing twice a month (actually, I do that already so nevermind ).

5) Trying the rest of the PRIMA line.

6) Replacing ALL of my current polish/wax towels (Microfiber supreme shine) with the proper Monster Fluffy's. Right now, I only have three Monster Fluffy's and about 30 Supreme Shine's, so this goal might take a while.

7) Taking care of the Monster Fluffy's (light machine wash seperate from all other towels. AIR DRY only).

8) Buy a rotary buffer.

9) Learn to use said rotary buffer (oh wait...that was supposed to happen last summer, but someone forgot to release his DVD this year... just kidding Octane Guy ).

Looks like I got a busy year!

1) Do the two bucket routine or get a grit guard for the bucket.

2) *gasp* finally apply some vinyl protectant to the dash and seats

Not really resolutions..

but learning to do more than "wax on wax off". I'm getting a PC, and will try it out on an aging FIAT that is currently an experiment in ferrous metal oxidation, then on to a 2001 black MDX with so many swirls the paint acts like a diffraction grating, then the Mini, then the Mustang. We'll see how it goes....

If you are doing a Fiat, 1st make sure your tetanus booster is up to date. Be careful not to snag your pad on the ferrous oxidation.

I resolve to NOT just watch TV while the wife is washing the car (she loves washing wheels)

My major milestone is to get her to learn to put on the wax

Resist the urge to QD more than necessary.

Milestone:
Give Blimey his first PC polish job in late April (if necessary) to prep for MOTD.

I resolve to: Stop using my good MF for cleaning the wheels. Just quit being so lazy and go get one of the Target ones out of the other box.
My milestone: Get my boot swirl-free. GD brake dust!
