Anyway, I've been trying some different products but I just found the ONE!

Meguiar's Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner - The 'Xtreme Cling' foam (non-aerosol) helps a lot with all the spoke surfaces. Spray, wait 15 seconds, rinse. OMG! It REALLY works. NO BRUSH. Unbelievable. $6 (?) at AutoZone

According to Griot's Garage, any wheel cleaner that you can just spray on and rinse off with no hand washing is too abrasive on wheels.

So... let us know in about six monts or so if you have found a truly great product or if your wheels are beginning to show some signs of corrosion from that Meguiar's Hot Rims stuff.

Thanks !

Acidic or basic, but probably not abrasive. Agreed though, the spray on stuff that is too good to be true is usually very low pH or very high pH. The really great stuff as far as removing brake dust are those that are very acidic - but they will trash your rims and at the very least, will remove any wax you are using to ease the dust removal issue.

Anyway - back to the lists!

some civic guys were raving about that Meg HotRims spray.

im sure they will be okay on OE wheels, but not sure if i want to
use them on aftermarket wheels. i still recommend you use just
car shampoo and just keep it nicely waxed.

So true is this. I hate the duster. I left mine out on newspaper to dry for days before using. I wiped the quarter panel fo my black car and stopped half stroke!!!

I am going to have to add my new Hawk Ceramic Brake Pads as my new #1 detailing related product. Worth the cost and installation time for me!

poorboy's bright n bold tire dressing - water based dressing that also cleans. I have retired my other tire dressings

cyclo - I can't remember the last time I unboxed my PC since I bought this polisher. Capable of more correction than the PC

SFX Ultra Fine Detailing Clay - Very easy on your LSP and I like to use it more often than a more aggressive clay

I use Hot Rims... it works well. I hose off the wheels with plain water, then spray down the rims with the Hot Rims. Repeat X4. Then, starting with the rim I sprayed first, I use my Meguiar's "Xmas Tree" brush and car wash soap and agitate the remaining brake dust off. The time the solvent is on the rims is about 2-3 minutes (maybe a bit longer by the time I get to the 4th wheel), and that seems perfect for loosenning the crud for the brush to whisk it away. So far both X-lite and S-lite rims look good as new even after weekly applications.

Mother's Back to Black.
I used this on all of my external trim and my wipers. My rear wiper was starting to look like fiberglass and this stuff fixed it. My roof trim was no longer black, but its black now. It's good on all trim surfaces (not only black) and for removing wax on trim. Also, not too shiny, just a healthy looking black.

Bought some of this just yesterday. It's pretty amazing stuff. Tested a bit on my black bonnets and then did both - WOW! Back to Black is right! Hope no one posts that it EATS vinyl!

really? you guys like Back To Black? thing is just a dust magnet. i hated
it on my arches. i removed it tried Meg's Vinyl and Rubber. worked good.
then switched to Griot's Vinyl and Rubber and that's wat i will be using
for now. just get the small 8oz bottle from Griots. it will last you a
LONG time unless you use it on tires.

Mr. Clean Magic Erasers

For those of us "blessed" enough to live in Lovebug territory, I have found that the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work great for removing stubborn bug guts. I have also used them to remove paint transfers for those nice people in parking lots .I should mention that i haven't used one on my MINI yet, just my other cars( I park way away from everybody and lovebug season isn't here yet).
