Our community had finally the yearly garage sale ! I was able to sell most of the stuff I wanted to get rid off and as we also had the sping cleaning dumpster I threw the other stuff away !
They almost cancelled the sale because of low participation last year but as it is the only chance we have to do one because of the by-laws I'm glad I got them to reconsider

So yeah, afterwards I cleaned out the garage (had previously ripped apart the 4x4 tiles and did a 1x1 checkered floor) and finished the sides of the floor which required cutting the Motofloor with a jig-saw !

Everything went well, thanks to the proofen "measure twice, cut once method" . And it had to as there wasn't 1 tile to spare, none, nada, nix.

So, next weekend I will attack my workbench set up and maybe my wife will start with painting.
I also promised to put some shelves into my neighbours garage, we will see what I get done.

Pictures will follow !

or

you can get a smaller package of 32pc either in 16 black & 16 charcoal, or 12 orange and 20 black for $ 99.-

how about you ? Anything going on in RC-land ?
Did you by any chance ever stumple upon a Porsche 956 or 962 as a RC car ?
I'm totally into these Le Mans Porsches and I know that Tamiya once had them as 1/12 but all I could find was a $450 buyitnow on eBay :(

i dont know if im on the right thread but i need help getting rid of a sticky stuff that keeps falling down on my MINI all over. it looks like a glue. it seems to me that it is a nectar from a tree coz i see insects usually look like ants stick into it. it is all over my window, front, roof, side doors. pls what product to use to get rid of it. thanks. water won't take it off i have 3 spots still stuck in my windshield, no matter how many times i try to get rid of it by washing the windshield with auto liquid wiper. it looks hardened like a glue. il appreciate the cleaning tips.

You need a light duty solvent. A bug and tar remover, isopropal alcohol (rubbing alcohol) are cheap solutions that work. Clay will also remove sap.

After all of these you will need to re-wax.

i need a cleaning product that wont require me to wax my car. im a woman and have no idea how to do car waxing. i saw this product on another thread. i believe this one does not require waxing afterwards:

http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...ar+wash+kit.do

do you think this one will remove the sap(thanks for the term)?

Your link is not working.

Being a regular customer of Griot's, I'm thinking you're talking about their spray on wax that you use after washing ? If so, it's a good product but you'll want to use it regularly (every few weeks) to maintian proper protection of your paint.

And, as far as waxing goes, I assure you, it's just about as simple as walking. You just apply it in a very thin, even coat, let it dry, and wipe it off.

Regarding sap removal... about the only thing that will do that effectively is a clay bar. Even after that, you might need to polish that area to get the remaining stain out of the paint.

+1. for dailydrivers i highly recommend the Griot's PaintSealant kit (very easy
to apply and remove).

and try the new 9pattern hose nozzle to wash the car.
only other thing you'd need is a microfiber washmitt, CarWash, and
a waffle weave drying towel. just get the gallon of CarWash cause that
little 16oz or watever is only for 5-6washes.

no need for wash bucket if you use the 9pattern hose nozzle. just rinse
the washmitt after doing a panel per side with water. (just a turn on the
top dial of the 9pattern hose nozzle).

wash your waffleweave towel before use in your washing machine. separate
from other cloth towels. micro-fiber towels only. goodluck.

btw, all, BradB was the one that turned me into this detailing fanatic...

How about removing the car from the garage and into it's own condominium?

Renting one of those "Condos" for your car is probably more expensive than most people's mortgage payment.

Nice though !

Based on the collections within, I don't think the $$ was too much of a concern for most of the people playing here....

I'm totally sold on the concept though.

Alright well I finally got started on the garage project. First is paint:

Disregard the fish tank, lol.

Next on my list is a decent epoxy for the floor. Is there a general consensus about which is the best bang for the buck for quality? I'm looking for some shade of gray.

Ever see the intererior of an F1 constructor's garage? Spotless white, more tools than you can think of, and a pretty F1 racecar on it's own adjustable building stand. I once toured Team McLaren F1's factory in England, their assembly bay were to die for.

To the earlier post: don't use newspapers for anything more than reading and lining the bottom of the birdcage or cat box. When cleaning windows, use at least a good quality paper towel, or a dedicate a worn cotton bath towel to the cause. If you're more concerned with ease of use than quality of care, any spray-on that says it's good for use on vinyl will work. Vinyl is the material used for the black plastic exterior parts and it sometimes reacts badly to certain chemicals.

It was for sale and someone was coming to pick it up

To Griot's!

Edit: I assume "Floor Paint" is the same as "Epoxy?"

hahaha. i see... be funnier if your wife was hang drying her bra
or something in the pict and bug you about it.

yah, typically garage floor paint is that epoxy stuff. most water based
floor paints you buy locally will lift up with your tires. those are only
good for basements to keep dust down.
