Car cover on my Zaino'ed Mini

My '03 MCS Mini must sit outside the garage in favor of the wife's Lexus.

We bought a car cover for the Mini as compensation, but here in Arizona we have an abundance of very fine, highly abrasive airborne dust that gets into everything as well as under my Mini's car cover.

The Mini had to sit for a few months due to business. When I recently removed the cover I was horrified to see all the dust that had accumulated despite my best effort to seal it up.

I more recently gave the Mini a full Zaino treatment. 6 coats of Z5 and 12 coats of Z2, each of which had a Z6 wipe-down between them. So I trust she has pretty good UV protection against the AZ sun.

I am reluctant to put the car cover back on because of the abrasive dust I know will accumulate between it and the paint surface.

Thoughts, anyone?

Mike

If it were me, I would chance it with the cover rather than just letting it bake in the sun where it can damage the interior as well.

Have you bought the tie down for the cover, it goes under the car and locks. that might help

18 coats of zaino ... hmm... You might try some RegeX. check the thread on that stuff. I tried some on the wheels and a little on the paint and its amazing. Brake dust barely sticks, most doesnt. Paint is smooth as silk.

try a tyvek cover. they don't seem to dirt let through like the porous / woven fabrics.
