Repairing Scratches on Vinyl Graphics?

So, after doing some wiping down of the MINI, I realizes that there are some pretty large surface scratches (not through to the paint) on my fairly new bonnet graphic. I've looked around on the forums and Google for advice or repairing, with no luck.

Is there any way to repair these scratches, or at least minimize their appearance?

You can do some very MINIMAL polishing on the vinyl graphics but you have to be very careful. They are fragile. I have black stripes and have polished them several times to remove light scratches and each time I do I remove a little more black "ink" from the surface. I'm almost to the linit now. The best bet is to use the finest abrasive possible or a "cleaner wax". A cleaner wax is a wax with a small amount of abrasive in it. You can even use a wax that has fillers in it to help hide scratches and swirls, no matter what wax or sealant you are using on the rest of your car. Treat your vinyl as a special case. It's all a matter of camoflage when it gets to a caetain point. Of course keeping a good wax, preferable durable sealant base on the vinyl is important in protecting it from scratches. At least it helps.

Im to the point of considering "painting" my black rally stripes on.
