I left Florida for several months on Sat. and I’m back in Ohio caring for a 02 Z3 that I keep garaged. I routinely use clay bars (play dough like product) after washing and before I do any paint correction procedure. Today I used a new clay bar pad 5”x4” and the results were outstanding. I could hear and feel the paint telling you when it was done. Lubrication, I use the Wolfgang Uber wash diluted down (1 ounce to a 32 ounce spray bottle) which I prefer over the use of plain water. Use whatever buffing compounds you prefer afterwards but I really can endorse the use of a clay bar pad over the use of the old clay bar play dough like product.

Minnie, I used the reference of play dough just anyone interested would know that this is the maliable bar. What I used was an actual pad or in some forms I’ve seen a small towel. The ease of use for the pad Iused was fantastic. Spray on some Uber wash and give a complete wipe down with the pad. I could hear the sediment coming out of the paint. And then it would stop. Absolutely like glass and then afterwards clean it in water and you’re ready to go for the next time. The tried and true clay bar builds up with sediment after a while. I bought mine from a detailer in California so I could test the product. For $8.00-$9.00 it was well worth the test. ez-store1 was the fellow selling these on EBay. Hope this helps.
