Cold water Tide on carpets

Yes, I watched Apex detailing on You Tube demonstrating how a diluted solution of Tide Coldwater Wash laundry detergent and I thought that I would give it a shot. The recommended dilution was 4-1 which I found to be too strong. More like 7-1 worked for the spray bottle. I used it on some mats and carpeting that were previously cleaned and I pulled more dirt out of both of them. Makes for a powerful cleaning agent at a rock bottom price. Watch Apex on his use of Tide and draw your own conclusions. I’m sold.

Passed on this tip to a friend that bought a 2 year old car for his daughter at Ohio State. Downside was it was covered in tar from tobacco smoking. Every.interior surface in the car had to be cleaned. Even the trunk reeked of tobacco. Used the 6-1 solution of cold water Tide and my Bissell spot cleaner. 3,5 hours later it is clean and deodorized. Get yourself a 32 oz. spray bottle and put 4-5 oz. of Tide and it just works. Spot cleaning, headliner, upholstery, carpet, I even blew ash out of the vents when blowing a small amount of alcohol mix in there.

Tide does work well but be careful because it will lease a sticky residue. Ehind that will attract more dirt.

I like using a all purpose cleaner and a scrub brush on car mats, carpet or plastic / rubber.

I rise them with a hose or pressure washer and hang the mats to dry. For “in car” carpets and seats I use all purpose cleaner and a stiff brush and rinse with a good glass cleaner and a shop vac.
