I'm looking for something that's not slippery or shiny bling bling (hate that). Just want to protect the leather without making it impossible to sit in.

|
Another option; Connolly Hide Food
|
I've been using Griot's Garage products lately. There are others that are cheaper, but I've always been pleased with the results of the Griot's product line. Their leather cleaner and protectant is not real shiny or slippery. Just let is soak in.

I was also thinking of Griots since I've been pleased with their other products. Ryan, how your stuff work out for you? It's not greasy or shiny is it?
Thanks. |
If Rolls Royce, Bentley, and Jaguar recommend and use Connolly Hide Food - well, I think that speaks for itself. Not applicable for me since I have Space cloth. I used Lexol products in my previous leather upholstered vehicles, with slight satisfaction.

I’m thinking if you want to protect the leather – Just keep the cow in it.
|
I have had great results with Connelly Hide Food and Zaino Brothers' Leather in a Botle. These will keep them looking just like new and not greasy or shiny. After the product has soaked in you can buff the seats with a soft towel.
|
I've been pretty satisfied with Lexol products, I use the "low gloss" 3M protectant on my dashboard (has a slight lemony smell to it, but not bad). Hide Food is indeed the best, but also pricey. I HATE Armor-All, makes a dash look like tire shine

If you want a complete matte finish, please try Einszett Leather Care. It creates a perfectly matte finish, as your MINI came from the factory. This is our best seller with German car owners, for this same reason. No slip!
You can read what others have to say about it here: http://www.autopia.org/review/censur...amp;itemid=287 db |
with the way my leather is puckering and wrinkling, I might switch from Lexol to Oil of Olay
|
The only leather I have is my MFSW (is that real leather?). I have heard horror stories of the leather degrading, so do I need to treat the steering wheel with a leather protectant? Is there a specific product since its a steering wheel, ie non slip?
|
I use the Einszett Leather Care on my steering wheel, as well. Again, perfectly matte... no slip! I drive at full velocity and can't afford any slippage!
My second favorite product is the Griots brand. Nice smell, no residue and low shine. Regarding the comment on Connolly Hide Food... Hide Food contains solvents that will disolve the vinyl coating used on all German-made leather interiors. It's designed for traditional leather. Please don't use it on your MINI! db |
Another excellent product for Leather cleaning/conditioning is Lexol.
Go to http://www.lexol.com for more info. It can be purchased at any reatil autoparts store. If you have leatherette seats, I also highly recommend Vinylex, also made by Lexol. |
To clean, Lexol. To maintain supple and in great condition, Connolly Hide Food. Best of both worlds.
|
Hide Food or Leatherique.
I was surprised by the earlier comment about Hide Food being inappropriate for German cars. I've used it for years on 911s with excellent results. |
