How did my car get to be in such bad shape?? Going through the local car wash during the fall and winter of last year and having the dealer detail my car. I had a full detail at the dealer in October of last year. This work was done by Phil in late March.

I have been on the forums for a while now. After a short time I started to see these detail write- ups from Phil and I said to my self WOW, this guy does a great job. I wish I lived near him so I could have him detail my car. His shop is probably in Florida or Southern California or Texas or some place far away. So I check out his website to see where he is located and wouldn't you know it, he is 15 minutes from where I live. SWEET.

I contacted Phil in January or so to let him know I was interested and to talk about a price to do the work. I could not wait for the cold weather and snow to be behind us so I could bring my car in to have it detailed.

Phil and crew you did a great job. I am impressed with your work, the products you used and how the car came out.

Thanks again,

-Steve

Looks awesome!

onefish....your MINI makes me want a LB JCW!

Thanks for the pictures! Phil, you are truly a master at what you do. IMO, you've documented why to stay away from car washes, (although it is tough here in WI to get thru the winter, but we do have a couple of DYI hose down places to use in a pinch). Steve, thanks for sharing as well.

Looks fantastic...care to share the cost?

Beautiful job! I am also interested in cost, and how many man-hours this took!

Yeah...and it occurred to me after my last post...he may well have given you some deal in exchange for allowing him to show off his work...that's all good and fair...just wondering what the going rate would be for this kind of work typically.

(In point of fact I don't even live near you...interested for comparison shopping purposes around here)

onefish2 Apr 27, 2010 02:24 PM

Send me a PM and I will gladly share the cost. No, I did not get a discount for having Phil post this on NAM. He is a regular on here with many other posts of work he has done on other European cars and a MINI once in a while too.

It was not cheap. It was more than double the price that I have paid in the past for a detail. Yes he did more, like the paint correction and applying sealant afterwords.

A week after I had this done, it was a joke to wash the car and use a QD on it. So, so easy. Same thing the second time and the 3rd.
