Since July I've told the local dealer that the rear passenger's side trim moulding was coming detached. I present him with photos to show the problem without any possible misunderstanding.

It came back from the dealer and the same problem happened. I found that I could fix it myself using some Super Glue on the tabs, and I told the dealer of my need to do this last week when it went into the shop. I presented him with more pictures.

So the dealer "fixes" it again; I get the car back last Friday. Over the weekend, the DC Metro group had an outing and I found time today (Tuesday) to wash off the collected bugs and fingerprints from admirers. Here is what I found to have happened AGAIN

The trim moulding would not stay in place pushing the tabs into the appropriate slots and using my wrist as a "hammer" to make sure it had seated (just like had happened before). I am not amused. I make utterances involving 4-letter words originally publishe by Geoff Chaucer. I question the parentage of the dealer's mother.

So I again applied a few drops of Super Glue to each of the plastic tabs and push the moulding back into place.

Now (again) the trim moulding stays in place thanks to the miracles of cyanoacrilate.

Next time I visit the dealer I will again tell him of the problem, just to see if he can break it one more time.

Are there tabs or something else that hold the trim into place? Could it be that it cracked or something broke off? You should ask the dealer for whole new trim moldings.

Yes, each of the tabs you see on the exterior trim piece pushes into a mating plastic clips attached to the car. I am certain that the clips are "weak" or "sprung". You can see one of them on the corner of the car (with some Red overspray). I suggested to the to the dealer that they be replaced but apparently he just banged the rim molding into place because the problem was not repaired. (MiniDivision -- are you still watching?)

I made this posting in part to expess my frustration. But I also posted it to tell others that a few drops of Super Glue will solve the problem, in spite of unresponsive dealers.
