Hey, Sirron.. I think i saw you post that you use leather cleaner on your leatherette, so it has that leather smell to it... what cleaner do you use?

And I used a clay bar on my MINI today... and w/out giving it a and rub of wax afterword (just the wax&clean they give you for 'lube') the reflection is much sharper then the untreated panels... unfortunatally for me, I dropped the darn thing in a big pile of crud on the side of the driveway

Were you using the entire bar? I generally just tear off small pieces.

You're right though. The results are very impressive. I just wish the bars weren't so darn expensive.

Not me, All I used to use is a damp cloth on my leatherette, I now have neoprene seat covers, which are as comfortable as a fat lady's lap.. But on the outside of my LTL YELO I use EagleOne Wet Wax as U Dry.

SirRon.. Ok.. nevermind..

Dave... The directions just say to kneed the bar in between sections... so that's what I do... but i just wish you could buy the bar by itself.. I already have the lube, and the wax, but I can't seem to find the Mother's clay bar w/o the kit...

Griot's garage sells the clay bar by itself. That having been said, use LOTS of the lubricant to keep the clay from sticking to the paint.

"Clay Magic" at AutoZone $9.99 including lubricant.

What's the best thing to use if you do get clay stuck to your paint? I've been reading a search on this topic for about an hour now.

Can anybody help me out??

Thanks
Charles

The only thing I've found to remove clay is..............clay! You just need to scrub at it with the bar for a little while and it'll come off. I promise.

I second that... a little lube and the clay itself will pull off the clay..also guys, if you're going to claybar, don't do it on a hot car in the sun.. it basically will melt the clay and it smears everywhere. (This is experience talking!! Pay attention class!!)

Break the bar up into 1/4ths or 1/3rds when it's new, keep the others in a ziplock with a spritz of lube with it.

IF you DROP the BAR.... chuck it.. no amount of kneading will prevent that big piece of dirt and rock from scratching the heck out of your beautiful paint eventually. Once the entire bar looks more grey than yellow, chuck it. I'd say one third of a bar is good for proabably 6 good full car rub downs.

For all you Zaino freaks like me, remember to use a spray bottle with Zaino Car Wash and water instead of something like mothers showtime... especially if its the first time you're applying Zaino.

Ben
