they should make one in white so LynnEl can wear it on his head and
look like a chef while detailing.

That is what I was thinking myself, from everything that I've read and been told, a detail cloth should be folded, then folded again, essentially giving you 1/4 of the overall surface area at one time and a nice soft cushion under your hand so you are applying even pressure to the surface.

It does depend on how thick the MF towel was to begin with. I find that the Monster Fluffies don't need to be folded in quadrants, but the dual piles could be.

If I fold the MF's, it's usually in half for a little bit of extra cushion and grip.

Remember, detailing is still about common sense--hard and fast rules don't apply to every situation.

I'd say detailing is about uncommon sense. I replied to another post a moment ago saying that no one is born a detailer. Everyone starts from scratch, reading, watching a DVD, and practicing, practicing, practicing. Once one has gained experience (as you clearly have) one can apply what what he has learned to a given situation.

(By the way, there's no such thing as common sense! "Common sense" is what one person says they would do after seeing someone else do the opposite.)

i would not eat gum that fell on the floor... cause it picks up crap.

i would also not to use clay (sticky) that fell on the floor for the same
reason.

i think common sense applies here...unless your parents didn't
teach you anything.

Why don't you just use your detailing magic wand and transfigure your hand into a quadruple thick hand-shaped Monster Fluffy? Temporarily, of course. Then change it back.

Accio Starfish Mitt!!!

(sorry - just finished reading The Deathly Hallows...)

(BTW, may be meeting up Thurs am at DP for the MITM caravan too)
I was reading your post and originally thinking to myself, "Why doesn't she just stop by if she's coming to Denver??" Then you said it!

See ya next week!

Yeah, but I would've let you down if I didn't go on and on and on and on! You know I can't just state a simple, concise answer!

I think you two need to combine your suggestions into one for the ultimate buffing "tool".

I agree! Not only would he look like a chef but a hat version would be useful just in case he fell over or tripped and his head landed on his paint. Best to have a fluffy piece of microfiber on your head just in case! You can never be too careful in scratch-prevention techniques.

Yes, we'll have to have a variation for different parts of the country!

The irony of Buffing a Starfish. "Starfish Buffing Mitt"

No gloss, the skin isn't not even smooth, rough texture, yet we need a mitt for buffing a Starfish??? I wonder if Epic would help it cope with saltwater better--the trick would be how to keep him alive, seal him, put him back in the water, then reseal him every once in awhile!

btw, my Prima clay was nice and soft today... and it kneaded like my
other claybars. must be the temp (85F) and also the many squirts of
QD i sprayed in my container..(?)

anyway, it was great using it on my G's rear end.

Could we have an instructional video for this one also?

I got my starfish mits yesterday. Very soft and comfortable. But the blue doesn't match the blue on my car. Come to think of it, that's probably a good thing. Someone got some grubby, oily paw prints on the bonnet, so I had a chance to briefly try a mit out. Very nice. I had only 1 minor issue: As it was about 632 degrees out, my sweaty paw didn't slide into very easily... But, other than that, I love it!
