We got %35 as this was the legal limit for the driver side window in VA. We decided to go with 35 all arround and the sunroof. I guess you can get darker tint on differant windows but we wanted everything to be same tint. $100 for the car + $25 for sunroof.

Since we've never had a car tinted we were a little worried. It made us feel better that Carlos was just finishing on a BMW M6 when we drove in. Carlos was very friendly and knowledgable.

I know 35 is the legal limit but my friend suggested that i go lower like a 20. Do you think that would look good on a BRG-MCS?

Not sure what the rules are in MD, but in VA the legal limit is 50% front, and 35% rear. Darker tint provides a perfect/legal reason for an officer to pull you over (which of course allows the officer to issue a ticket for the tint, as well as to get into other issues with the driver/car).

Here's the verbage directly out of the VA motor vehicle code.

1. No sun-shading or tinting films may be applied or affixed to the rear side windows or rear window or windows of any motor vehicle operated on the highways of this Commonwealth that reduce the total light transmittance of such window to less than 35 percent;
2. No sun-shading or tinting films may be applied or affixed to the front side windows of any motor vehicle operated on the highways of this Commonwealth that reduce total light transmittance of such window to less than 50 percent;
3. No sun-shading or tinting films shall be applied or affixed to any window of a motor vehicle that (i) have a reflectance of light exceeding 20 percent or (ii) produce a holographic or prism effect.
No film or darkening material may be applied on the windshield except to replace the sunshield in the uppermost area as installed by the manufacturer of the vehicle.
