Who's good with re-aligning Sat Dishes

Mine blew over on Thursday and I need a little Krutsistance - I don't have the azimuth finder for all the dang satellites. AND Amazing Race All-Stars is on this evening - I'm going to be screwed if I can't watch it. :-)

Krut, if you had the setting bolted tightly, all you have to do is point it to the SW sky and go slow. If someone comes over to tell you when you get close/stop, than you are all good. Even if I had the #s, you still would need someone''s help. Good luck:thumbsup:

I guess that's what I'm asking... :-)

If you have a Radio Shack, they have a device that beeps to tell you when you are on the correct sat. I am not sure of the price.

Edit: Here it is.

I know that in the DirectTV setup process you insert your zipcode and it'll tell you the coordinates to point the satellite at. If you've got a compass and a protractor (left over from school maybe?) you should be able to get it pointed in the general area. After that you can use the signal strength tones to dial it in on target.

His problem is that the dish is on the roof and he is on the bottom floor. I believe it is a 6 story building, so the beeps won't help.

I can't wait for DirecTV to be come through my FiOS connection.

I had tried the coax earlier as I have basic cable included with my cable modem for 58 bucks a month - but the quality was super snowy.

Should've thought of this earlier... I had a splitter in the coax for my old Dishnetwork Dish - pulled out the wall jack, pulled the coax, removed the splitter. Picture perfect. So I can at least watch Amazing Race All-Stars in decent quality tonight. Phew. I was losing my mind with the dang rabbit ears.
