MINI Motoring Hearts

I am sure you all received the e-mail from MINI USA re: volunteering in the community. Is DCMM currently affiliated with a volunteer program? If not perhaps we should look into it.

Just to list a couple of the volunteering opportunities...
  • Brewers Ball benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
  • Our Daily Bread, delivering groceries to immobile families
With the winter months upon us we have less motoring opportunities. We are always looking for events so why not volunteer a couple of times a month?

Great idea, Asya... I believe that we as a club will be doing something large (financially) via the MINI Motoring Hearts vehicle... I'm not 100% that we are going via that campaign, but I think so.

Separate from that, it would be great to find a good cause for us to connect with as a club - especially if it were involving our own MINIs somehow. The grocery delivery idea is one such example.

Well I just thought I would put out the suggestion. A lot of places need volunteers in addition to funding. I am just surprised that we wouldn't want to get out there and show people we are more than a bunch of motoring nuts.

That's a great idea!
I work with several non-profits in the area when not at the day job, and its so rewarding!

This past Sat we had a bunch of volunteers at the DC Homeless Shelter, I was directing a group of carollers, and we had food tables and vounteers setup as well.. its so great to see the smiling faces of those receiving.

Let me know how I can help, I do a lot of event planning and for non-profits and always love giving it my all on those tasks! Beats the office work anyday :D
