Anyone heading up to DC using the scenic route from C'ville to DC? I am thinking about doing skyline drive.

 

I plan to take the scenic route. I have no urge to do KD. I would definitely like to meet up with others that are taking the same route.

 

We're planning to go up the Skyline Drive. We'll try to hook up with you.

 

Hey DCMM, I'd like to sign up me and the wife for the ball game. I'll be representing NEMINI like CooperGirl.

 

Can I reserve 2 tickets to the ballgame? I am signed up for MTTS. I'll be brining my 8 y.o. son.

 

I don't want to deal with 95 or KD so thats why Skyline Drive sounds pretty good! Plenty of nice little places to stop along the way and the scenery can't be beat!

 

I was planning on going up skyline Drive on Saturday. I posted on the the sight about going down to Charlottesville by way of 29, that I would like to find some people to get off at 211 and find a vineyard for lunch. Anyone up for that?

I Just checked out the Maps of DC, and realized that we will be staying in a hotel that is a mile away from RFK Stadium, so we will probably just motor on over with the rest of the gang representing NE MINI.org - and meet y'all in Parking Lot 7.

I would like to RSVP for both the Drive-In and the Game. It will be my MINI, me and my husband, Mike.

And like FlorencePS, this is my 1st post on DCMM forums and 1st as a member. I am looking forward to meeting and motoring with everyone, it will be the first event we have ever been to.

Count me in for both the drive-in and the ballgame. I thought it was going to be a 4-hour trek from my place to Charlottesville, but turns out it's only about 2 and a half hours, so I should be able to get down there in plenty of time!

I'm still deciding whether or not I'd be going to KD during the day on Saturday, but KD is something that can be done pretty much anytime (during the summer, at least), while motoring down Skyline Drive with other Minis is a special occasion!

Those attending the drive-in -- I need a volunteer to gather folks together at the parking lot of the Omni and "lead" or follow the group to the drive in. My schedule is not going to allow me to travel to Charlottesville for the MTTS events - unless something changes at the last minute. But the last minute will be too late.

Carl, would you be willing since you know the way?

 

Do we know what time we'll be departing from the Omni, what time the movie starts and what time we should wrap up?

 

Per the first post: The movie starts at sun downwhich will be about 8:00. The drive inn opens an hour before dark.

It should take us approx 40 minutes to get to the drive-in and sunset on Friday will be at 7:39pm. I think we should meet at the Omni at between 6:15 and 6:30pm - leaving at 6:30 (I'd rather be early and have time to hang out than rushing to get there). That should get us there about 7:15 and we should have enough time to get everyone in, park, get snacks, etc.

Also, for the trip back, I'll be taking Skyline Drive and would love to meet in the morning to head out. Why not at the Omni again? The MINI desk is open from 7-9am (I think), so maybe we meet at 9am?

 

Are you really from Staunton, VA? What a beautiful town! I had the pleasure of staying in the historic distric recently....ab-fab!! Looking forward to meeting you!

Hi all, I signed up for the last two legs of MTTS butunfortunately I have a conflict and won't be doing. I see in another thread that wristbands might not be necessary to attend the events, but if you need them, I have two I'd be happy to give them to someone, and the journal as well. If you can use them, email me at gail.shochet@gmail.com . It's totally free, but if you can pick them up it would be great. I'm in Baltimore City, just off of I-70.

 

Just watching the local news and the forecast path for Hurrican/Tropical Storm Ernesto and I am hoping and praying it will not rain on our MTTS parade!
