First ever good experience from Mini Of Sterling...

So one of my wiper blades started to tear, so I finally made it out to Sterling and it about 10 minutes, with really no questions asked. They replaced both windshield wipers on my convertible. Quick and fast.

Slowly redeeming themselves in my eyes.

I really do hope that MoS takes its position seriously in the MINI/mini community. I do wish that all of the dealerships do outstanding CS and that the MS's and CS's perhaps get better training in customer relations and stop the whole American dealership attitude. If that happens, then the MINI/mini will grow.

I think just jaded by our bad experiences at MoS.

I myself dreading going in for my state inspection (they won't be able to fit me in, they won't finish it, they'll need to keep it for 6 days...etc), but ended up being nicely surprised by not only having my inspection done, my windshield wipers replaced (which I didn't ask for), but also having them complete my 10k service that was scheduled for 2 weeks later. On top of all of that, having a great SA be very helpul, friendly and efficient.

So yeah, before actually experiencing something good at MINI of Sterling, I might have been just as sarcastic...

I'm new to the DC area and I'm wondering if I could get some more experiences anyone has had with Sterling MINI. I bought mine up in NJ as Princeton MINI and I won't be needing service for a little while because I'm not even up to 1000 miles yet. But I'm wondering if I should get it serviced in Sterling or just take it back up to NJ. I really liked Princeton MINI, but obviously I haven't had to deal with them for service yet. Any suggestions? Is Sterling MINI a good dealer? My only disappointment is that the closest dealer is all the way out in Sterling (I'm in Arlington). You would think they'd have put one closer in considering DC is such a big metropolitan area...

I have had several things done in Sterling.

They do not return phone calls ... that is true. However ...

I will repeat again that they went WAY out of their way for me calling in the Regional MINI rep to solve a problem ... and

I cannot praise Herb, the Parts Manager, any higher. They will get you just about any aftermarket part you want except Alta. He's a great guy.

However, if you read other MOS threads, they are way backed up in service work but are opening up another building that may ease this up.

You can always go to Tate in Annapolis (not advised) or Towson. Towson rocks. Never an issue with them. Always excellent service.

I followed this warning and went directly to http://www.miniofsterling.com/ , clicked "Service" and then "Schedule Service". Fill out the "Schedule a service visit". I received an email with service dates within 10 minutes from David Rockwell.

Highly recommended!!

I filled out the form for an apt at MOS online(10k service) and they are scheduling for Sept. 4 right now. Dave Rockwell got right back to me to schedule. I filled the form out early, knowing I would get the apt. when I need it.
