Anyone up for a concert?

One the best bands in the world is playing 2 shows in the area (DC and Baltimore) in April.

The band goes by the name They Might Be Giants.

I'm planning on going to one of the shows (leaning more towards the 930club/DC show). I know there are a couple other people in the club that would be interested...

April 26th: the 9:30 club in DC
April 27th: Sonar in Baltimore

Grr... been waiting for them to start touring again. But, they're playing here during my first week down in Florida. And, of course, the tour doesn't go near Pensacola.

My friend in Knoxville alerted me that they will be in that town the weekend after the Dragon. So if you can stretch it...

This might surprise you - given my age - But I'm a big fan..get their email newsletter. I just can't stand for that long at the 9:30 club and they don't serve pain killers. Does Sonar have seating?

Matt - call me - my number is on Mark M worker site

How are their live shows? I've only heard a couple of their more mainstream songs... I did buy a CD once upon a time ago, but never really got into it.

TMBG live shows are a lot of fun! Seen them live probably 1/2 dozen times and they show is always high energy and fun.

Istanbul was Constantinople
Now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works?
That's nobody's business but the Turks

(sorry, I'm gonna leave now)

Actually, they do serve painkillers. It's called 'whiskey'!

As for seating, I don't think so. Nearly all TMBG shows are standing room only. However, at the 9:30, they do have some bar stools at the front of the balcony level. Don't know how comfortable that would be for 1 1/2 hours though. (And, now that I think about it, the area isn't always open...)
