Springs, Rear sway install in Northern VA?

Any recommendation for a place to install new set of H-sport springs and a rear sway bar in the northern virginia area?
The shop I freqently go wants $600 just for the springs. I'm sure there are plenty of places that are cheaper.

I'd love to have it done by a Mini expert, (along with a pulley) but they only work during the weekdays and I don't have time to drive all the way there to drop it off cause I have to goto work.

I don't know about cheaper, and I don't know what effect using just any shop to do the work will have on your parts warranty...But, Performance Buyers Club in Chantilly has done good work on my 05 MCS for about $85/hour.

hmm I'll check what PBC wants.
Didn't know they worked on anything other than miatas..
As for parts warranty, I'm installing aftermarket stuff so don't care much.

hmm so I checked with glenelg service center and they want $680 for the install and alignment.(no parts)
I asked how many hours and they said they only charge flat rate.
Don't understand why anyone would recommend them.

I installed my sway bar by myself in my driveway in 2.5 hours. Pretty easy. I don't think I want to attempt the springs yet. I would be happy help you do the sway bar. I am in Manassas and pretty flexible on the weekends.

I've done springs and swaybar. 1 hr for the bar, about 4 for the springs (but it was dark, f'ing HOT, and I did them solo with a snack break). I have all the tools - we could have a party if we get a few folks together!

I'd only ask for $$$ to cover gas from SW Baltimore and back, plus maybe half a pizza

I might have to take you up on this at some point. I want a stiffer rear sway bar and I'm not too far away from catonsville.

Additional bonus - I've also done the rear control arms (maybe 30 minutes total!), and there's an AWESOME alignment joint just north of Baltimore that did front/rear alignment and rear camber adjustment for $80!!! I highly recommend them---

Just PM me when you're ready...

BTW I am switching from my 19mm H&R adjustable rear sway bar to a larger bar this summer, so if you want it, let me know. We could do both bars the same day.

Thanks for the offer!
It'll be a great chance to learn more about the car.
I can travel up to your place if that is more convenient for you..
I'll probably be busy this weekend because a carwash place screwed up my 2 week old wheels and I need to get them to fix it!

Also, Thank you MPwald05 for your offer.. But I'd prefer to have both done at the same time..Maybe I can ask for some help later?

No problem. Let me know when you guys are going to do this and where. I would love to see what the springs take to install. They are very high on my list of mods.

Thanks

Out of town this weekend, but available next...

My place offers only a small driveway. My old BMW 2002 takes up most of the garage - and it won't be running in a week

for the future, check out currys auto service--they have locations in chantilly, falls church and sterling (close to sterling bmw/mini)...they have a good rep and folks who work on all makes/models...

 that is the shop I frequent. They do excellent job. But $600 just for the spring install is a little too much for my budget.

I was looking for some suspension help and talked to those guys the other day. I'm not exactly a total newbie having autocrossed porsched 15 years ago but I learned more from them about coopers in an hour than I have from reading any MINI forum online.

An excellent shop
