My current record is 424.8 miles (set just last week) at 31.4 mpg.
I usually run her until the range shows in the single digits.
Best mileage was coming back from the Dragon, 32.34 mpg at an average speed of 78.
My overall average mpg since taking delivery on November 20 2004 is 27.16 mpg.

STELLA is a Cool Blue '05 MCC and everybody loves her.

Just filled my Cooper up - 13.3 gallons
Distance - 457 miles
MPG - 34.36
FYI - the 'estimated Distance to Empty' was "---", I guess once it hits 0, it does not change to negative numbers.

WOW! I continue to be impressed by my 1yo '04 MINI Cooper.
Last two tankfull's:
400miles / 11.817gal = 33.8mpg $30.00 (OBC range remaining: 55)
452mile / 12.891gal = 35.1mpg $33.50 (OBC range remaining: 14)
most astonishing... that last tank included 1/2 hour on Summit Point
Shannandoah course!

I think the miles-to-go figure on the ob computer (by the way, mine says "board computer" Mini left out the "on" Can't imagine a Mini being bored, no matter how you spell it) - anyway, it may be predictive, depending on speed, acceleration and possibly other measured data. I was in a situation where I had 19 miles to go and 5 miles to a gas station. The remaining miles dropped to 15, 9 and then 1 with 3 miles left.
I started a mini prayer and slowed down. The mileage climbed and I made it to the gas station with about 7 or 8 miles to go.

Hmmmm...I must be an awful driver because I am lucky if I am able to get to 300 miles. I have 2004 MCS and I have noticed that when I am down to my last 40 miles (per the on-board computer) my car starts to sputter a bit. It is random but still happens. I will be sitting at a light and it sputters like it is about to die. So of course I fill it up. Anyone else have this problem?
