I guess I better go to the Holiday party
I don't live in a mansion but it is a nice cozy SFH with lots of parking. I also have a pool table so if you have a favorite stick bring it along. See ya all on the 10th of January  |
Heheh....Everybody thank Brian for his generosity!
|
Thanks a million, Brian.
I will be there with a tray of Pad Thai noodle. |

Sounds great already. Btw, are we going to do the "Yankee Gift Swap" again this year? It will definitely be fun.

If it is January, than WE MUST revive the DCMM tradition of the Yankee Gift Swap at the party. Everyone will have something after the holidays that they want to re-gift. All party attendees need to bring one item (re-giftable only!!!aka the one gift you did not want and would never want) - wrapped - and then we do the swap. Pick and steal style! It's a lot of fun

If you want to trade a gift, bring one! Let's keep it under 20$ |
Eric and I will be there. Thanks for hosting this, Brian!
Christine :) |
If I can get somebody to trade days off with me, I'll definitely be there.
If I have to work 8 hours, I'll probably be there. If I get stuck with overtime, I'll possibly be there. |

I'll be there! However, I have no idea what to bring for the potluck. I am open to ideas, but they have to be something I can pick up in a store, for the following reasons:
|
I just received an invitation over the holidays for a former teacher's retirement celebration on the same evening. This will make my attendance much more difficult. I pretty much HAVE to go to that retirement thing but I might be able to catch some of the potluck if it ends early enough.
|
Hey L. I hope that you can still try and make it.
Those retirement partys usually only last a few hours since they are all old folk  and go to bed early :) See ya, B. |

Sorry I missed this. Still trying to get over a bug and thought I better not share it... Musta been quite a party, everyone still sleeping it off?
|
Hey buddy you have not missed the party unless you cannot make this Saturday the 10th of January.
Hope to see ya, Brian |
DUH, I only half read apparently... Glanced and saw 6pm and read as Jan 6....
Reading without comprehension, what a shame! Wondered why the thread was so dead! |
With the Holiday party quickly approaching, please post what you plan on bringing. I planned on keeping a list but was not sure of the best way to do that.
See ya on Saturday, Brian  Please see post #24 for list. |
As a veteran of the last 2 holiday parties, may I make a suggestion? You might want to go through this thread, then post who's bringing what in the following fashion:
Meat (hey, ya never know..we had a ham the 1st year): The person's name who's bringing it. Veggies (this might include a veggie tray): Person's name. Casseroles (this would include the famous pad thai): Person's name. Dips: Snacks (chips 'n stuff): Baked goods: Soda: Ice: etc. you get the idea.. This will help you keep a tally of what's being brought and it will show what is needed to fill the gaps, so to speak. Hope this helps. Have a good time on Sat.:) |
Here is a list of those who have RSVP'd and if noted, what they plan on bringing.
PlayPlay - Brian0758 - plates, cups, utensils, etc. Maxicooper - Pad Thai noodles MINInurse - Taco feast dip GreenCactus - lasagna or mac and cheese JustJAY - MINInurse  ccc777 - white trash casserole Mr EZ - tomg47 - Bowtie Pasta Salad mini12 - ? ? ? Edge - Sodas byl - ? ? ? loxycoon - mini sandwiches (ham, turkey and roast beef) mmatarella - ? ? ? e30r5 - Cookies Christian MD - Chips wolf617 - something cake-ish Scavenger - ? ? ? Please PM me or post what you will be bringing if you have not already done so. Thanks and see ya Saturday, Brian |
Brian, as I posted earlier... since I'm both a non-culinary artist bachelor and that I'm flying back from Australia the night before, all I can do is go to the store on Saturday and buy something to bring... but I'm hoping you'll be able to tell me (by Saturday) what you think is still needed, so I can help fill in a gap.
BTW, you have me listed twice. Am I supposed to bring twice as much as anyone else, as punishment for not declaring it? |
