DCMM's Tennis Corner

Any tennis fanatics/lovers/players/beginners in the area?

I haven't seriously played tennis for quite a while , have just picked up racket again recently and start to go out play, for a fun of it.

I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in a tennis outing sometimes.

If you'd like to play or try on the Har-Tru clay courts, I'm more than happy to host the first outing (there are hard courts as well, in case that you don't like the clay court).

It's summer time, lets get together, motoring and hit some balls.

I played tennis for many years as a teenager, and now I only get out there once in a blue moon.

I'd love to get together and play more, provided that the schedule and location could be worked out!

Maxicooper Jul 2, 2008 06:04 AM

Awesome....

I'm looking at it like a casual get together at tennis place on a Sunday afternoon: start with a short run to the tennis place, hang out and play some tennis (I can block the courts for about 2 hours), and finish with some nice casual meal.

How does it sound?

Edge Jul 2, 2008 08:27 AM

Sounds like fun! :)

MrMellowYellow Jul 3, 2008 03:17 AM

Sounds great, Maxicooper! Bev and I haven't played for over two years and we're way out of shape by now. But getting back out on the courts would be great!

I can't speak for Bev's schedule but I'm pretty flexible. July's looking booked though.

Glenn

I have court time reserved on Sun morning (10am) and afternoon (4pm), are you interested?

MrMellowYellow Jul 3, 2008 01:41 PM

I'm good to go on Sunday, just let me know what time is best for you. Bev....is up in the air. She needs to get a bunch of work done so she may or may not be able to come.

Awesome...

The place is the Racquet Club at Hobbit's Glen. 10221 Wincopin Cir, Columbia, MD 21044.

The reserved time is 11am on Sunday. We should meet there around 10.30am.

Anyone interested please feel free to join. 6 is a good number, but the more the better. We can always get extra court.

Don't play, no problem. You're more than welcome just to hang out, or if you want to try, I have extra rackets.

See you then.

What a fun day.

Great day of tennis, talk MINI  & followed by a good Indian food.

Thank you Glen (MrMellowYellow), Haemish (Edge) and Ed (Hypnohealer) for stopping by.

It's been a while for everyone of us since last time we played. (Especially for me, its been more than 25 years) But we still managed to hit balls. (sort of)

I think we should do this more often.

For most of us, this time is our first time playing on a clay court. (this is my 3rd time). Hopefully, everyone enjoy playing on the clay court, and Hermish, I promise we will choose hard court next time.

I thinking about having tennis outing once a month. We can also play in the bubble (indoor) during the winter. So it can be one of the year round activities.

Let me know if anyone's interested.

Maxicooper Jul 6, 2008 01:53 PM

Yep, I'm on the first set Nadal lead 2 - 1.

Remind me of this morning, Glen and me.

PlayPlay Jul 6, 2008 01:55 PM

Just so you know, this was the longest finals match in history...should I tell you the total time?

Great day, guys! It was fun playing with you all and we even enticed Ed to join in on some doubles.

Chris, I'm definitely interested in playing once a month...at least! Would love more.

Great shots, Ed! Thanks for posting those.

You got me when I was practicing my secret "Flamingo move".

Edge Jul 7, 2008 07:09 PM

I had a great time, although I should have played more than I did (exercise, you know...).

Oh and Chris... my name is spelled Haemish, not Hermish.

It's "Tennis & Lunch" time again. Sunday, Sept 7th.

We are open for location, in case anyone would like to host the event. If not, I have court(s) reserved for the day near my place.

Last time we had a great time with tennis and Indian food.

:)
