Rain-X works pretty well, too! I hope we don't need to verify that claim today, though.

Maybe we should change the name of the run to, 'MINIs IN the Bay, or MINIs in the Rain'.

Sorry you and the others can't join us. Maybe we can do it another time, and after the run I'll be glad to send a route sheet to anyone who PMs me to request one. Didn't want to publish it beforehand, since the route had to change so doggone many times due to, you guessed it, the rain, related floods and wind damage.

This is a collection of some great roads, and it gets even better with just a few cars (four is the perfect number). And it's a great excuse to go to Chesapeake Beach for brunch!

Many thanks to the 17 cars who came out today in spite of the gloom and doom forecast. It did rain a teensy bit on the way down, and a bit more coming back, but nowhere near the dire downpours that were predicted.

My heartfelt thanks to all of you who came with good attitudes, super safe driving skills (there were some challenging turns and intersections) and exceptional patience with my convoluted route and lost voice. You guys are the best!

Speaking of best guys, thanks, RAB! Your super sweeping made my job much easier, and it's the first time I've ever been able to hear a clear voice on the radio of a car that's 16 cars away. Awesome job, and thanks!

More thanks go out to Glenn for his continued support, great suggestions for route improvements, and especially for lending me his wife to be co-pilot for the first half. You are a very lucky man, my friend. Please thank Bev for me, too. She was a treat to have in the passenger seat.

Another thank you to Chase and Brandy for suggesting some of the roads in Calvert County. Can't wait until you get together with Daniel to put on your own run down there!

you guys missed a good run, and the rain was minimal.
Thanks to Ed and Rab for doing such a fine job.
Janelle, it was sunny 2 years ago..wasn't it? Anyhoo, rain or not, it was still fun.

Bummer. I wish i would have came now. That's always the case. I hate that. If i would have came, sure enough, it would have rained buckets!

Thanks, Ed for letting me accompany you. I'm so happy that you let me tag along and talk your ear off. It was great to finally ride in another MINI -who knew that a gal could get so thrilled over all of the cool gadgets in a MINI, especially the rubber floormats!

Oh yeah, and sorry for any bruises I may have caused.

It was also great to see the ol' gang again after having dropped off the face of the earth for a few months. Thanks everyone for all of your congratulations.

-Bev

Thank you Ed for putting so much effort into making the run a success.
I know firsthand that it ain't easy.

The roads were so nice that I couldn't tell that some were substitutes for submerged parts of the route.

Kudos also for the restaurant choice. The breakfast buffet was delicious.

It's always more fun when you're with us! Maybe we can do the run again just for the few folks who missed this one. Unofficially, of course!

Great job putting this together, Ed!

And no need to thank me because I'm just repaying a small portion of the huge debt that I owe to you. You've helped me so much...not only with my upcoming run but with more important things like driving skills and overall confidence. I can't thank you enough for being such a good friend.

Without DCMM and these event, we never would've met all the wonderful people that we now know. Thanks to everyone for coming out and making the day a fun and enjoyable experience.

Glenn

What, you were there? What happens on a run, STAYS on a run!
I'm sure not going to tell anybody how many trips to the waffle bar somebody made. Nope. That kind of information is a secret.

Or as Sgt. Schultz used to say, "I see nothing!"

What a day ! Great run ! Great Food ! Great Folks ! Great Ritas ! and then Leona and I topped things off with Chicken Tikka Makkani at the local Tandorri ! Ed - the spices would have cleared that cold right out !

Thanks everyone !

Thanks for asking! Yes, ice cream is a general tonic, and Scotch is ALWAYS a good anesthetic!
Of course, I still have my cold, but I just don't care anymore.

In my best indian accent "yes, you are correct, a night at the Tandoori would be most welcome"

Just need to find a good one with plenty of parking !
