I've been thinking of getting boot stripes, too. Do you remove the Cooper tag on the boot? Is it hard to remove?

 

It's on there with industrial strength double-sided tape. It's not hard to remove, but getting all the tape off the boot for a nice clean install is a pain in the kaboodle.

You can always just cut the vinyl around like I did:

 

When you order your stripes it asks what year and if you have a cooper or S, and they send you an oem replacement badge too. I removed mine and it wasn't terribly difficult. I heated them with a hair dryer and worked some dental floss behind them and pulled them off. Some residue was left but my fingernail and a little wd40 removed it all. Then you install the stripes and put the replacement badge on top.

Wagnbat's method is cool too, it's just up to whatever your preference is.
