[Sat. June 23-12pm] RSVP! Mark's 4th World Infamous DCMM cookout. Alexandria, VA

Another Cookout @ Mark's!
Saturday June 23rd 12 noon until...
3453 Little Hunting Creek Dr., Alexandria VA (about a mile from Mt Vernon)
Phone 703 704-5112

Click for Directions and maps to Marks.

RSVP here on the DCMM calendar

I can't call this my third annual, since we doubled up and I had two last year. Another cookout for all my DCMM friends. I also always want to extend a invitation to any new members, this is a great opportunity to meet the gang!

No rain date needed as I've got a nice covered porch and rec room so we need not fear the weather or worries about the temps. Plenty of room to spread out.

I'll be doing burgers, dogs, and brats on the grill and I will also provide the rolls, condiments, ice, plates & cups. I'll ask folks to sign up to bring a side dish, sodas, and such. Feel free to tell me you'd like to bring something else, I'm just trying to be sure we cover the basics, or don't have only meat and cake. We've run heavy on desserts the first two of these and a lot of things were unfortunately barely touched becuase of the number of desserts.

Please RSVP on the NAM calendar...Make sure you RSVP so I can get a head count so we all know how much to bring!

Let me know what you want to bring here in the thread. Back in July last year we had about 28 people and the last left around 11pm!

Here's a list of suggested food items to 'sign up for'. I'll split these up a bit with multiple people for things that are typically eaten the most. If the RSVP list grows we can and will add a additional person for a item too.

Sodas (canned): As long as people like to stay at these cookouts, a large amount of soda has been needed! I'll also have Ice Tea. Suggest 4 - 10 packs each volunteer. Get em on sale 2 for $5 and outlay would be $10. About what a side dish person would spend I think. Last time Regular Coke as most popular, followed by Sunkist Orange! and Diet Caffeine free Coke.

Eric and I are in! We'll bring a corn casserole (not on your list, but always a hit!). Can't wait...it sounds like a lot of fun!
Christine :)

ccc777 May 11, 2007 01:38 PM

p.s. Why don't you ask people to bring bottled soda instead since you are already providing ice and cups? It seems easier and cheaper (just a suggestion).

MINInurse May 11, 2007 02:12 PM

This is on the calendar already, so don't forget to RSVP...

Now I jsut have to make sure I am not working that day!!!:lol:

lastrega May 13, 2007 11:22 AM

Mark, we would love to be there that night, but will be at Mid-Ohio for the
Grand-Am weekend. I sure hope to make next summer. Thanks for the
invite.

delelie May 14, 2007 12:11 PM

I'll try to be there; will rsvp soon.

MINInurse May 14, 2007 01:43 PM

I will be tired (have to work the night before) so 1) we may be a little bit late, let me sleep a bit longer than 4 hours, and 2) I will make my taco salad that I made for the christmas party...it didn't come home with me, so I guess you all liked it!

Hey All, lookin' forward to my first cookout Mark! I will be bringing an Indulgent trail mix kind of snack; this stuff is freakin' addictive and I'm sure it will be a big hit. So I guess it could count as a pre-cookout hors d'vours or a post meal lite dessert (it's got white chocolate, chocolate, & peanut butter morsels, almonds, cashews, golden raisens, cranberries). It's the best - I'm not a cranberry fan by any means and I think I've sold about 10 people on this stuff at work; robbed a couple of desk drawers to grab a snack! It's addictive! So that'll be my contribution. :0)

Rowan May 25, 2007 11:16 AM

Since I had to cancel my MINI United reservations & stay for work, I might as well make it to this MINI-related event!

Sign me up for some Dessert Pie.

What kind does everyone NOT want?

mmatarella May 31, 2007 07:54 AM

FYI, We'll have my DVD of some Dragon runs with the spectacular top of the roll bar camera mount. You've never seen in car footage of a MINI on the Dragon from this perspective!

Also, I've got a High Definition DVD of the Italian Job! Ooh, Aah, HD!

mdsbrain May 31, 2007 08:40 AM

Nice.... :-D

HEMI-MINI Jun 1, 2007 12:55 AM

Can't say yay or nay yet due to the fact we are expecting around that time frame.

kgdblu Jun 1, 2007 08:29 AM

Mark, I have hot dogs, cheese brats, and buns. They're left over from the Dragon wrap up (few showed up and I had bought tons of food). All frozen and safe in my freezer. let me know if you want them...

Scavenger Jun 11, 2007 12:30 PM

We won't be able to make it, we'll be outta town. Have fun everyone!!
