Shock Caps

I've searched, but can't track down a specific answer.

Got the Konis installed today. But the dust caps for the fronts. The little round rubbery/plastic caps that keep dirt out? Those. The adjuster on the Koni is too tall to allow that to seat.

Do you guys just go without? That's legal for stock class?

TIA.

Are you talking about covers for the "well" at the top of the strut towers? These caps used to be on eBay for a ridiculous price, but some guys found the same things for almost nothing at Home Depot.

I think you'll be fine. If someone protests for that, they'd get laughed out of the event.

So you just leave them off then. I was thinking about drilling a small hole to let the just the tip of the adjuster poke through.

Not as good as sealed, but better than wide open.

I guess if you drive in a lot of dirt and dust, that could get into the upper shock mount bearing, you might consider running a modified version of them. But I wouldnt' drill a hole in them. That's kind of permanent. I'd take one to Home Depot and see if you can find a taller version. Or maybe get one that covers the entire hole (the fenderwell).

Push a little harder, the stock caps fit.
